Speedy’s Fast Track

A Houston Go-Kart and Laser Tag Classic

Speedy’s Fast Track is located in northwest Houston, near the Heights and Spring Branch areas, just west of Highway 290. The family entertainment center has been operating since 1994, and the Houston Press named it Best Amusement Center and Best Place to Ride Go-Karts in 2014. It is a no-frills local favorite where guests come for racing, games, and birthday parties.

Four Kinds of Karts on an Indoor and Outdoor Track

Speedy’s offers four types of karts, so guests of different ages and heights can all race. Standard go-karts are for drivers at least 54 inches tall, super karts are for drivers 15 and older, and two-seat super karts let an adult driver take a passenger who is at least 36 inches tall. F1-style karts are the fastest option and require a driver 16 or older with a valid driver’s license in hand. Every ride lasts five minutes, and the track staff may shorten a ride if a driver breaks the rules. Kart tickets do not expire, and in bad weather they can be exchanged for laser tag rounds.

Two-Story Laser Tag Built for Quick Rounds

Laser tag takes place in a two-story arena, and each experience takes about 15 minutes: five minutes for the briefing, seven minutes of play, and three minutes for the debriefing. Players must be at least 46 inches tall. The short format keeps the action moving, so a group can play several rounds in one visit. Groups often pair laser tag with go-karts or mini golf, and combo packages bundle the three together.

An Arcade With Pinball, Pool, and 18 Holes of Mini Golf

The arcade has more than 150 video and redemption games, along with air hockey, foosball, pool tables, and a rotating lineup of pinball machines. Recent additions include licensed pinball tables such as Godzilla, Deadpool, Jurassic Park, and The Munsters. Visitors also mention a giant Connect 4 game. An 18-hole miniature golf course rounds out the offering. Guests who want to save can buy a 90-minute arm band that covers many attractions, and free lockers are available with a quarter deposit that is returned afterward.

Birthdays, School Outings, and Corporate Team Building

Speedy’s hosts birthday parties, school and daycare outings, church groups, late-night parties, and corporate team-building events. Party packages include prepaid admissions for 20 guests, and each guest receives unlimited laser tag, mini golf, and go-kart rides plus arcade play. Families may bring in any food they like, though alcohol is not allowed. Weekend party tables are first come, first served, and a regular package purchase is required to use them. Reviewers say the place is well maintained, and that prices are reasonable compared with similar venues.
