About

Wunderland sits in the Tanasbourne neighborhood of Beaverton, Oregon, on the west side of the Portland metro area. It’s one of several Electric Castle’s Wunderland locations that have anchored family entertainment in the region for decades, having moved to its current, larger home off Cornell Road years ago.

A Deep-Space Battlefield Under One Roof

The heart of the Beaverton Wunderland is its laser tag arena — a 5,400-square-foot, two-level themed space that drops players into a deep-space station the moment they step through the briefing room. Inside, fog-shrouded corridors, black lights, and music set the mood, while mazes, ramps, and interactive features keep every match moving. Up to 30 players can battle at once, either as individuals or in teams identified by the colored lights on their battle-suit vests. The arena is built around objectives, not just tagging. Players defend base stations guarded by warbots, zap a central reactor before it melts down, take on a giant creature sent from another universe, and capture secure portals — all while earning individual scores at the end of each game. The venue uses state-of-the-art Supernova Laserforce equipment, with battle suits carrying 20 hit sensors, full-color LEDs, shoulder speakers, and a two-handed phaser with a special feature button. A handicap and power-up system keeps games balanced and challenging round after round.

Nickel-Powered Arcade Nostalgia

Beyond the arena, the game room is the soul of the place. After a small admission charge, nearly every game runs on nickels — most cost just one to four nickels per play, with a few jumbo plush crane machines reaching eight. That makes it one of the most affordable arcade experiences around, and it’s a big part of why families keep coming back. The floor mixes the latest releases with time-tested classics, and redemption games are a specialty. Players can challenge themselves or each other and walk away with loads of tickets, which they trade at a prize counter stocked with an ever-changing selection of over 200 prizes in a wide price range. Racing games, target and hunting games, and plenty of skill-based options mean there’s something for every age and ability.

Movies, VR and Rides Beyond the Arena

The Beaverton location is more than an arcade. It houses a movie theater with stadium-style seating and discounted first-run films, making it a rare combo of cinema and game room under one roof. The theater is a big draw for families who want a full day out without leaving the building. The venue also rounds out its lineup with a range of other attractions, including pixel games, escape rooms, go-karts, an XD dark ride, Hologate VR, and mini golf. That breadth means a single visit can stretch from a movie to a laser tag match to a round of mini golf, which is a big part of the appeal for groups with mixed interests and ages.

Built for Birthdays, Teams and Get-Togethers

Wunderland is a natural fit for celebrations of all kinds. Birthday parties are a specialty, with laser tag at the center of many of them — a high-energy way to burn off sugar and excitement while keeping cleanup out of the parents’ hands. The venue also welcomes corporate events and group outings, positioning laser tag as a fun way to bond with coworkers or friends. Because it combines laser tag, arcade games, a theater, and other attractions, it works well for everything from kids’ birthday parties to team-building events and casual family get-togethers. The mix of physical play, strategy, and social interaction makes it a versatile spot where different age groups can each find something they enjoy.

A Family-Run Welcome

Wunderland is a family-owned business that prides itself on a clean, safe, and friendly environment for guests of all ages. The staff are known for personal, welcoming customer service, and the venue emphasizes that general admission is charged for everyone who enters — players and spectators alike — with kids seven and younger required to stay with an adult. Laser tag is open to ages seven and up, with five- and six-year-olds admitted only if a parent plays alongside them, and no one under five allowed in the arena. For regulars, a $1 membership card unlocks a codename, level-ups, power-ups, achievements, and online rankings through the Laserforce system — a nice touch for players who want to track their progress game after game.
