KingPins Family Entertainment Center sits in the Cedar Hills Crossing neighborhood of Beaverton, Oregon, on the west side of the Portland metro area. It is one of two KingPins locations, the other being in SE Portland. The Beaverton venue grew out of the longtime Sunset Lanes bowling center, which owners Tom Burke and Jon Tang rebuilt and rebranded as KingPins, partnering with Creative Works to bring in modern attractions like laser tag and virtual reality.

Avatar Earth Quest: A Two-Level Laser Tag Arena

The heart of the Beaverton location is its laser tag arena, a 3,800-square-foot, two-level space that transports players to a distant planet where a futuristic industrialized world presses against an untamed rainforest of twisted trees, strange creatures, and vivid plant life. Up to 28 players can join a single mission, and the arena is designed with plenty of obstacles to hide behind, making every round feel fresh and strategic. Missions run on a 15-minute schedule and begin with a briefing before players gear up with Helios Pro equipment. Each vest has target areas on the chest and shoulders, and the phasers carry LED readouts showing player status and scores. Two teams are formed with skill in mind, and guests must be at least 44 inches tall to play. The arena is a popular draw for groups, birthday parties, and corporate team-building outings.

An Arcade and Virtual Reality Floor

The Beaverton arcade spans roughly 5,000 square feet and holds more than 65 of the latest video and redemption games, from fighters and shooters to racers, skee ball, and basketball hoops. Tickets load directly onto a KingPins FunCard, and players can trade them in for prizes at the Winner’s Court Redemption Store. Alongside the classic games, the arcade features virtual reality experiences including Godzilla and Virtual Rabbids. The TapHouse Bar & Grill provides on-site dining with a full menu, and the bar pours 24 beers on tap that rotate with local Portland-area breweries. Large-screen TVs and a sound system keep the atmosphere lively, and lane-side buffet service lets guests enjoy food and drinks without leaving their lane.
