Paintball

Players: any

Rounds: 500

10+ Age

Paintballs come in a variety of sizes, though .68 caliber is the most common and is considered the standard size of paintballs. The pain will range from ‘similar to being snapped by an elastic band’ to ‘getting stung by a bee’, and the worst you’ll get is a small bruise or welt, nothing too dramatic so long as you stick to the rules.

Price includes: Entry Fee, Marker (Paintball Gun), Face Mask, 3000 PSI High Pressure Air Tank, 500 Paintballs, Free Air Fills (for the day), Pod Pack (If available). 3 Hours of play

Low Impact

Low Impact

Players: any

Rounds: 500

8+ Age

Low Impact paintball is a form of paintball designed for first time players. It uses smaller paintballs and lower force, hitting with 68% less force than a full sized paintball, but offering the same fun, action, and safety. The feeling is more comparable to a soft pinch rather than a bee sting. It is incredibly likely that the feeling makes your little ones laugh rather than cry after being hit.

About

A Family Farm Turned Battlefield

Mad Cow Paintball sits on a working family farm near Cedar Creek in Louisville, Nebraska, roughly halfway between Lincoln and Omaha. The land has been in the same family since 1864, and the owners have set aside 40 flat acres near Turkey Creek exclusively for paintball. The name comes from the farm’s old cow-calf operation, where a “mad cow” was simply a stubborn animal that didn’t want its calves handled. The business is genuinely family-run, with three adult children who have helped build it and will one day take it over. It opened in 2002 and has spent more than two decades growing into the largest paintball operation in Nebraska, all while keeping the down-to-earth feel of a mom-and-pop outfit.

Seven Fields, Endless Ways to Play

The property offers seven distinct fields with different layouts and objectives. The woodsball, or timber, course keeps players close to how the game began, with a lightly modified forest that makes it easy to lose track of opponents. The concept field is scenario-based and open-ended, hosting everything from team deathmatch to fox and the hound, and it’s a favorite for beginners who want lots of players in the action. For those who like speed, the airball and speedball fields demand quick thinking and fast reactions. Across all the courses, players can jump into capture the flag, elimination, domination, and attack-and-defend modes. The fields are built with a wide variety of hiding structures, including spools, vehicles, shape walls, and bunkers, so there’s always somewhere to take cover.

Something for Every Age and Skill

Mad Cow offers three ways to play, so no one is left out. Standard paintball is for ages 10 and up and uses the classic .68 caliber paintball. Low impact paintball is designed for first-time players ages 8 and up, using smaller paintballs that hit with about 68% less force, so the sting feels more like a soft pinch than a bee bite. For the youngest crowd, Gellyball uses an electric launcher that shoots 8mm water orbs, making it a no-mess, gentle option for kids ages 5 and up. Rental packages come complete with a marker, face mask, high-pressure air tank, paintballs, and free air fills for the day, so newcomers can show up empty-handed. Experienced players who bring their own gear can buy field entry and season passes, and the on-site pro shop sells markers and accessories, with special orders available on request.

Built for Celebrations and Team Building

The facility is set up to host just about any gathering, from birthday parties and family reunions to bachelor and bachelorette parties, church groups, and company events. The staff handles the organizing so hosts can relax while guests run through themed arenas and compete in various game modes. Office parties get a unique twist, with friendly competition that builds team cohesion and morale outside the usual work setting. The venue also runs special community events, including an annual charity Toys for Tots gathering that has been going for two decades. Online reservations are available for all occasions, and the team encourages booking ahead to make sure rental equipment is ready for the group.

A Crew That Treats Safety Like Family

The referees and staff are mostly adults with other full-time jobs, and several are sponsored Mad Cow team members. They share a focus on making the game fun and safe for everyone, with safety treated as the number one priority. Every player must complete an online waiver and watch a safety video before hitting the field, and refs test everyone on the key points once they arrive. The atmosphere is welcoming and family-friendly, and the owners say they’re in the business of making memories at an affordable price. Snacks, sports drinks, candy, and bottled water are available on site, and guests are welcome to bring their own food. It’s a great fit for a birthday, a corporate team-building day, a school or church outing, or simply a fun afternoon with friends.
