Eagle Action Sportz was founded by three veterans — Taylor Harvey, Kelo Loper, and Cody Abadie — who met while studying at the University of Southern Mississippi. They saw a need for more recreational options in the Hattiesburg area and decided to create a space where both youth and adults could enjoy active, outdoor fun. Cody Abadie still competes in the National XBall League (NXL), traveling to fields across the country, which means the team behind the park truly understands the sport from the inside out. The park opened its doors to the public on August 19, 2017, and has been a local staple ever since. The staff takes safety seriously, conducting thorough briefings before every session and enforcing strict mask and goggle rules at all times. First-time players are welcomed with patient guidance, making the experience approachable for families, corporate teams, and youth groups alike. Whether someone has never held a paintball marker before or is a seasoned tournament player, the crew at Eagle Action Sportz makes sure everyone feels at home.

Six Fields, Endless Scenarios

The park features six distinct playing fields, each offering a different flavor of tactical action. There is a Wild West town that transports players into a dusty frontier setting, a 2022 NXL tournament field that changes layouts to keep things fresh for competitive players, a hyperball field with its iconic bunkers, and a traditional recreational field for more casual play. Each field is designed to challenge players to think fast, communicate clearly, and move with purpose. Beyond standard paintball and airsoft, the park offers low-impact paintball parties for younger players ages 7 to 10, Gellyball for ages 4 to 6, and glow-in-the-dark paintball sessions that light up the field after sunset. Airsoft players can bring their own gear or rent electric rifles with full face protection, mid-cap magazines, and plenty of BBs. The variety of game types means no two visits feel the same.

More Than Just a Game Day

Eagle Action Sportz is a natural fit for birthday parties, corporate team-building events, church group outings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and military or law enforcement training simulations. The staff helps coordinate packages that include game time, organized scenarios, and refreshments. Paintball, the owners note, is an excellent team-building activity that involves leadership, communication, physical activity, and teamwork — and they have the experience to back it up. The park also hosts themed weekends, tournaments, and special events that draw players from across the Gulf Coast region. A loyalty program rewards regular visitors with perks like 5% off pro shop items, a free bottle of water every visit, and half off the basic rental package. An annual pass is available for those who plan to play often, covering field fees for a full year with additional discounts on paint.

Gear Up at the Pro Shop

On-site, there is a fully stocked pro shop carrying some of the best brands in paintball — including Virtue, HK Army, Shocker, Exalt, GOG, Ninja, Empire, GI Sportz, Tippmann, Planet Eclipse, and Valken. Visitors can purchase paintballs, airsoft BBs, protective gear, clothing, barrels, loaders, mask upgrades, and maintenance supplies. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to help customers select the right equipment, whether it is upgrading a hopper or finding the perfect sidearm. Special orders can also be placed for items not currently in stock. For those who bring their own gear, the field fee is just $10 and includes all-day air refills. Paint must be purchased on-site — no outside paint is allowed — with regular paint running $58 per case of 2,000 and glow paint at $62 per case.

Relax and Recharge Between Rounds

Picnic tables are scattered around the property, giving players and spectators a comfortable spot to rest between games. Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs if they prefer. The atmosphere is laid-back and community-oriented, with plenty of space to hang out, share stories from the last match, and enjoy the fresh Mississippi air. The park also features a lounge area and recreation space for downtime. All fields are outdoors, so the park is subject to weather conditions. If a session must be canceled due to weather, a rain check is offered and the staff works with guests to reschedule. The natural surroundings of the property enhance the realism of each mission-style game, making it feel like a world away from the everyday — even though it is just minutes from downtown Hattiesburg.
