About

Hilltop Fun Center sits on Route 108 in Somersworth, New Hampshire, roughly midway between the towns of Dover and Rochester on the Seacoast. It bills itself as the Seacoast’s largest attraction center, and it draws families and groups from the surrounding towns and beyond.

Where Strategy Meets the Laser Tag Arena

The heart of the indoor action is a 5,000-square-foot, two-level laser tag arena that holds up to 32 players at a time. It is a genuinely modern setup: an open-concept, wall-free layout, dynamic LED lighting that shifts color to match the winning team, carpeted floors to keep the noise down, and two 65-inch scoreboard monitors inside the arena with two more in the lobby. A four-speaker sound system and tailored pre-match briefing videos round out the experience.

What really sets the games apart is the C.H.I.P.S. software — Competitive Human Interactive Player Software. Hilltop runs 12 different game modes that layer over standard laser tag, and the computer hands them out randomly to players on both teams so everyone gets a turn. Modes include Spy Mode, Energizer, Super Rapid-Fire, Bonus Mode, Freeze Ray, and Stealth, each with its own visual indicators, powers, and scoring rules. Sessions run 30 minutes and include three six-minute games with a one-minute break between them.

An Arena Built for Team Play

The arena is designed to reward more than just quick trigger fingers. Five “Sectors” can be captured and guarded for bonus points, and two recharging base stations let teams restore energy mid-match. Four wall-mounted targets light up at random times for bonus scoring, and an in-game “team coach” offers real-time tips on how to rack up points. Red and green lasers plus full MP3 sound on every vest keep the energy high.

Because the arena is two levels, players can shoot down at opponents from above, which adds a welcome vertical element to the tactics. The LED vesting racks make gearing up quick and smooth, and attendants are stationed in the arena throughout every game to keep things fair and safe.

More Than Just Laser Tag

Laser tag is only one piece of the picture. The center also runs four go-kart tracks (including a slick track and Naskart), an 18-hole mini golf course accented with flowers, waterfalls, and streams, nine batting cages, a golf driving range, a 28-foot three-station rock climbing wall, a 22-foot extreme bungee jumper, and a roughly 5,000-square-foot arcade. Between November and March, when outdoor attractions close, laser tag becomes the main draw, and the arcade stays open year-round.

The on-site snack bar serves homemade fresh pizza, fried foods, ice cream (up to 20 flavors in the summer), and soda, and there is an adult beverage menu with beers on tap and cocktails for grown-up evenings out.

Built for Celebrations and Group Outings

Hilltop Fun Center is a natural fit for birthdays, school outings, corporate events, fundraisers, and team-building days. Kids’ birthday parties come in Basic, Plus, and VIP tiers, each based on eight guests with table time, food, arcade cards, and attraction access. There’s also a dedicated “Big Kid” party option for ages 13 and up that skips the fluff and focuses on pizza, arcade credits, and attraction tickets. Group and fully catered corporate packages can handle anywhere from 20 to 200 people, with both 3-hour and 4-hour options during the warmer months.

The center has hosted church groups, school field trips, and corporate gatherings, and it offers educational packages that emphasize teamwork and communication. Party rooms and reserved tables give groups a home base for food, cake, and presents before the attractions open up.

A Crew That Keeps the Fun Rolling

The staff is a family-run team that handles everything from booking to serving to refereeing. Party hosts take food orders, serve pizza, and manage the flow of the day, while arena attendants stay inside the laser tag arena throughout each game to enforce the rules and keep play safe. The team is known for being attentive to details — confirming head counts before parties, accommodating food allergies on an individual basis, and generally making sure groups feel looked after from arrival to departure.
