Splat Action Paintball Park

Splat Action Paintball & Airsoft Park spreads across more than 100 acres of forested, creek-crossed terrain in Molalla, Oregon, about a half-hour drive south of downtown Portland along OR-211. It is one of the largest and longest-running outdoor paintball and airsoft fields in the Pacific Northwest, family-owned and operated since 1986.

Eight Fields Across a Hundred Acres

The heart of the park is its sheer size and variety. Players move between eight distinct playing fields spread over 100-plus acres of natural Oregon woodland, with more fields in the works. The terrain includes wooded hillsides, a creek crossing, bunkers, foxholes, towers, castles and tree houses, giving every game a different character. For those who prefer faster, more upfront action, the park also offers hyperball courses built with permanent obstacles rather than inflatable bunkers. These open, energetic fields keep rounds short and adrenaline high, while the wooded areas reward patience, stealth and tactical thinking.

Woodsball, Hyperball and Tactical Play

Woodsball is the heart of the experience here, a style of paintball played in natural terrain where stealth, endurance and tactical finesse matter as much as speed. The terrain itself becomes both a weapon and a shield, and a patient, observant player is often the most dangerous one on the field. For airsoft fans, the same 100 acres host a wide range of game modes using realistic replica rifles and lightweight BBs, which allow for better precision and longer-range tactical play. Game formats range from simple capture-the-flag to complex objective-based scenarios such as team deathmatch, zone control, VIP escort, package push and zombie games.

Scenarios, Camps and Custom Missions

The park keeps more than twenty standard game formats on hand and can customize scenarios to fit any group. Weekend “walk-on” days let solo players join whoever shows up, while larger groups can book weekday games or reserve a private field with their own referee. Beyond open play, Splat runs summer day camps for ages 9–17 that introduce paintball, airsoft, fishing, swimming and hiking, with a free camp shuttle available. The park also hosts themed events throughout the year, from regional paintball battles to holiday-themed scenarios, keeping the calendar lively for regulars.

Gear, Camping and Creature Comforts

Rental gear is available for more than 160 paintball players and 18 airsoft players, with packages that include markers, goggles, pod packs, camo jackets and padded vests. A gear and supply shop on-site sells paint, BBs, smoke bombs, grenades and spare equipment for anyone who forgot something at home. Registered players can camp overnight for free, with access to bathrooms, shower facilities and a community fire pit. The property also includes picnic and camping zones, a seasonal swimming hole, and shower and changing facilities, making it easy to turn a game day into a full weekend outdoors.

Birthdays, Teams and Big Celebrations

Splat is built to host just about any gathering. Birthday parties are available for ages 4 and up, from low-impact gel blaster parties for the littlest guests to paintball and airsoft packages for tweens, teens and adults, each with a private field, referee and reserved picnic space. The park also handles corporate team-building days, reunions, scout and 4-H groups, sports teams, youth groups, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and even weddings. Private events come with a dedicated field and referee, and the staff can customize the experience to match the group’s goals and budget.

Referees, Safety and the People Behind the Park

Safety is taken seriously here. Every marker is chronographed before play to ensure it stays within regulated velocity limits, minimum shooting distances are enforced, and only high-quality field paint is allowed so hits break cleanly and sting less. New players get a full safety rundown from their referee at the start of the day. The park has been family-owned and operated since 1986 and has played a role in shaping paintball rules and safety procedures over the decades.
