Texas Paintball sits in the small lakeside community of Jonestown, Texas, roughly eight miles from Cedar Park and close to Lake Travis in the Texas Hill Country. Spread across 40 acres of rolling terrain, it’s one of Central Texas’s larger outdoor action-sports parks, open for walk-on play and private events.

Ten Fields, Ten Different Worlds

The heart of the park is its collection of ten custom-built playing fields, each with its own character. From the fast, symmetrical bunkers of Airball and Hyperball to the weathered structures of Ghost Town, the park covers nearly every style of play. Forested fields like Vietnam and the Trenches reward slow, careful movement, while Crash Site, Counter Strike, and Crack House bring two-story buildings, towers, and dense props into the mix. Because the fields are so varied, no two games feel the same. A group can spend the morning sprinting through an open airball course and the afternoon picking their way through a ruined town. The park deliberately keeps teams balanced and rules straightforward, so newcomers and veterans end up on even footing rather than being overwhelmed.

Three Ways to Play: Traditional, Low Impact, and Airsoft

Texas Paintball offers three distinct experiences. Traditional paintball uses standard .68 caliber markers and is open to players ten and up. Low impact paintball uses smaller .50 caliber ammo that travels slower and stings far less, making it a natural entry point for younger players (eight and up) and first-timers. Airsoft rounds run on Sundays, open to players ten and older. The low impact option is a thoughtful touch for families. Because the guns are lighter and the hits are gentler, kids who might be nervous about the sting of a full-size paintball can still join the fun. Low impact players only face other low impact players, which keeps the experience fair and comfortable for everyone on the field.

Built for Celebrations and Team Outings

The park is especially well suited to group events. Birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate team building, fundraisers, youth groups, and Greek life events are all regular bookings. Private parties get their own referee and play separately from walk-on crowds, and the park can even open on weekdays by reservation for exclusive use. For larger or more unusual gatherings, the entire facility can be rented out. The staging area is set up to accommodate caterers and decorations, and the staff has hosted everything from all-nighters to water gun fights. Spectators are welcome, and the park handles cleanup, so hosts can focus on their guests rather than the mess.

A Crew That Knows the Game

Regulars consistently point to the staff as a highlight. The owner is known for being hands-on and knowledgeable about gear, able to repair markers, hoppers, and other equipment on the spot. Referees stay with groups throughout play, enforcing a 20-foot surrender rule that keeps close-range encounters comfortable and fair. Safety is taken seriously across the board. All players sign a liability waiver, masks are provided with rentals, and staff are trained on current industry safety standards. The park fills CO2 and HPA tanks up to 4500 psi, and chest protectors are available in the pro shop for those who want extra padding.

Extras That Round Out the Day

Beyond the games themselves, the park offers a few nice touches. A professional photographer can be hired to document events, and a pro shop carries gear and accessories. Players can bring their own food and decorations or hire a caterer for private parties. Memberships are available for frequent visitors, offering reduced field fees, cheaper paint, and lower rental costs. The park is field-paint only, meaning ammo must be purchased on site, but leftover paint can be taken home. Games are short—most under ten minutes—with breaks built in between rounds, so the day moves at a comfortable pace. It’s a place where a casual Saturday walk-on and a fully planned corporate event can both find what they’re looking for.
