About

Sandbox VR St. Louis sits inside the City Foundry STL development in the Midtown neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri — a lively food-and-entertainment district that also houses a food hall, Alamo Drafthouse, and City Winery. The venue itself spans roughly 4,600 square feet and is easy to reach for anyone exploring the city’s central entertainment scene.

Full-Body VR That Feels Real

This is not the kind of virtual reality you play sitting on a couch. Sandbox VR uses real-time motion capture, the latest-generation VR headsets, and a custom high-quality haptic system to track your entire body. Guests gear up with haptic vests, wrist and ankle sensors, headphones, and handheld controllers shaped like weapons, so every step, swing, and hit is reflected in the game world. The venue features four private “holodecks” — state-of-the-art rooms where groups of up to six people share the same physical space and play together. Because you move freely in a real room alongside your friends, the experience feels more like stepping into an action movie than playing a video game. The haptic vest vibrates when you’re attacked or penalized, adding a layer of physical feedback that makes the immersion genuinely convincing.

A World for Every Crew

The St. Louis location offers a rotating lineup of more than ten immersive worlds, so there’s something for nearly every taste and comfort level. Fans of the Netflix hit can compete in Squid Game Virtuals, battle Demogorgons in Stranger Things: Catalyst, or face their fears in Deadwood PHOBIA, the third chapter of the popular zombie trilogy. Families can travel back in time with Age of Dinosaurs, and sci-fi lovers can blast into space with Rebel Moon: The Descent or take on a family-friendly Star Trek-style mission. Other titles include Deadwood Valley, Deadwood Mansion, Seekers of the Shard: Dragonfire, Amber Sky 2088, Curse of Davy Jones, and UFL. The mix of scary and non-scary, competitive and cooperative options means a group can pick a world that fits its mood — whether that’s a horror-filled zombie survival or a lighthearted dinosaur adventure for younger players.

Built for Celebrations and Team Days

Sandbox VR St. Louis is a natural fit for birthdays, corporate events, team building, bachelor and bachelorette parties, graduations, and other milestones. The venue offers dedicated packages designed around these occasions. The Gold Package targets birthday parties and small social gatherings, while the Ultimate Play Bundle is aimed at corporate groups and larger teams, with catering permitted and multiple VR rooms available. Staff can transform areas into semi-private zones for group gatherings, and a VR room can even be repurposed into a private lounge or meeting space with AV capabilities for presentations. For school groups, there’s a field trip program that lets students step into immersive worlds together while teachers get an organized outing from start to finish.

More Than Just a Game

A visit typically lasts about 60 minutes, which includes gearing up with the haptic equipment, playing the experience, taking photos, and watching your group’s personalized cinematic highlight reel afterward. That highlight reel is a nice touch — you get to relive the fun from a third-person perspective and share it with friends. The staff are known for being attentive and quick to help, with reviewers noting that technical hiccups are resolved fast so the game continues smoothly. No gaming experience is required — if you can show up, you can play. The venue also has a party space that can be transformed for gatherings, and it’s located right next to the City Foundry food hall, making it easy to turn a session into a full day or evening out.
