Andretti Indoor Karting & Games Katy

Racing, Laser Tag, and VR in One Katy Destination

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is located in Katy, Texas, along the Katy Freeway just east of the Grand Parkway. The center opened in March 2020 and covers nearly 88,000 square feet. It is part of a chain named after the Andretti racing family, and it works as a pay-as-you-go venue with no general admission fee. Guests choose the attractions they want and pay for those.

Electric Karts on a Multi-Level Half-Mile Track

The main attraction is the indoor go-kart track, which is a half-mile long and has several levels. The karts are Biz Kart Ecovolt GT electric karts, which accelerate quickly and run on a climate-controlled track with hairpin turns, elevation changes, and long straightaways. The track enforces a no-bumping rule, which regular visitors say they appreciate. Younger drivers are included. Mini Mario karts are available for children from 4 to 7 years old, and adult races require drivers to be at least 54 inches tall. Players under 18 need a waiver filled out by a parent or guardian, but the parent does not have to stay for the whole visit.

A Two-Story Blacklight Laser Tag Arena

Laser tag takes place in a two-story blacklight arena that uses Delta Strike equipment. Players move between levels, hide behind obstacles, and track opponents under glowing lights. A session lasts 10 minutes, so groups can play several rounds without losing the rest of the visit. Next to the arena are several VR attractions, including Hologate VR, Hyperdeck, Omniverse, and Valo Arena, along with a 7D Xperience. Duckpin bowling, an arcade with more than 80 games, and mini golf round out the lineup, and a ropes course was part of the original design. Visitors describe the racing as great and the laser tag and VR as worth the time.

Parties, Corporate Events, and the Mario Room

Andretti hosts birthday parties, corporate events, team-building days, holiday parties, and sports team banquets. The center has a large dedicated event space, in-house gourmet catering, and event associates who help plan the day. Entertainment can be reserved for a group, with front-of-the-line access to activities. For smaller gatherings, the Mario Room offers a view over the track and the arcade, and guests can request a bartender for their party. The mix of racing, laser tag, and VR lets a group of very different ages find something to compete in.

Food Trucks, Sit-Down Dining, and Two Bars

The center offers several dining options, including an indoor food truck plaza with American, Italian, and Asian choices, a sit-down restaurant, and a dessert bar. Two bars serve craft beer and cocktails, with large HD TVs for sports. Guests can refuel between races without leaving the building, and the viewing area over the arcade and track gives a place to watch the next heat.
