Q-ZAR & Q-AXE sits on Voice Road in Carle Place, Long Island, just minutes from the Roosevelt Field Mall. The venue is a true piece of local nostalgia — the current owners, Ryan D’Amico and his father Joseph, took over the space after it had been closed since March 2020 and reopened it with a fresh look and a completely re-booted game floor. Ryan himself remembers coming here as a kid in the 1990s, and he built the new Q-ZAR to bring that same excitement to a new generation. The result is one of the largest family-friendly entertainment hubs on Long Island, combining a 4,000-square-foot laser tag arena, a modern axe throwing range, and one of the biggest arcade game facilities in New York. It’s a place where parents who grew up with the Q-ZAR name can now bring their own kids, and everyone leaves with a smile.

Laser Tag Battles in a Black-Lit Arena

The heart of Q-ZAR is its sprawling 4,000-square-foot laser tag battleground, lit with black lights and glowing beams of fuchsia, cerulean, and radioactive sherbet. The arena got a full makeover, including a second elevated level that gives players a better view across the battlefield. Up to 48 players can compete at once, either in teams or in battle-royale style free-for-alls. Players wear advanced sensor vests and laser handsets, choosing from a variety of game modes — from classics like Energize to challenges like Battlefield and Stun. There are also power-ups that grant extra lives, invisibility, and the ability to freeze an opponent. Strategy, precision, and quick reflexes matter far more than age or strength, which makes the arena welcoming for everyone from kids to adults.

Axe Throwing and a Massive Arcade

Q-AXE is the venue’s axe throwing experience, featuring four lanes where groups of up to eight can take turns hurling axes at plywood targets. The cage offers 15 different games, from a standard bullseye to tic-tac-toe, Connect-Four, and variations on the basketball game H-O-R-S-E. Professional coaches are on hand to guide first-timers, and the sport is available for ages 12 and up with a parent or guardian present. Beyond the axes, the arcade floor is packed with brand-new games — racing simulators, shooters, air hockey, ski ball, a basketball cage, and a Guns N’ Roses-themed pinball machine, alongside classics like Pac-Man and Space Invaders. The standout attraction is the King Kong of Skull Island console, a 4D virtual reality ride with fans that blow air in your face and interactive hand controls. All games run on debit and credit cards, and tickets can be redeemed for prizes.

Q-ZAR & Q-AXE is built around celebrations and group gatherings. It specializes in kids’ birthday parties, offering laser tag parties, deluxe laser tag parties, kosher parties, teen parties, and axe throwing parties, each with private party rooms, a personal party host, pizza, and unlimited soft drinks. There are also dedicated packages for corporate events, adult and corporate gatherings, youth groups, fundraising, summer camp trips, and full venue rent-outs. The venue is equally suited to team-building outings, office events, and family days out. Parents and guardians are even welcome to join the laser tag games free of charge during kids’ parties, so the adults get to have just as much fun as the children.
