About
Xplore Commack sits in Commack, New York, in western Suffolk County on Long Island, just off exit 53 of the Long Island Expressway and a short drive from Dix Hills and Hauppauge. It’s an indoor family entertainment center that has grown into one of the area’s most popular spots for kids’ play, laser tag, and birthday celebrations.
Long Island’s Largest Two-Level Laser Tag Arena
The heart of Xplore Commack is its laser tag arena — a 5,500-square-foot, two-level black-light battlefield that is the only two-level arena on Long Island and the largest of its kind. The space includes separate briefing and vesting rooms, and the equipment is all new and state of the art. Players ages five and up suit up, get a quick briefing, and head into the glowing maze of ramps, levels, and cover to outmaneuver the opposing team. Laser tag here isn’t just for walk-ins. Birthday parties get their own private laser tag sessions, and on select evenings the venue hosts laser tag blowouts with unlimited play. Because private parties take priority, open play laser tag is offered on a call-ahead basis, so it’s worth checking availability before heading over.
An Action-Packed Lineup Beyond the Arena
There’s plenty to do even after you hang up your laser vest. Xplore Commack was the first on Long Island to offer indoor mini electric go-karts, and its GLOW Karting track — lit entirely by black lights — lets kids as young as four take the wheel. The facility also features GLOW dodgeball, a Lazer Frenzy laser maze, and an arcade with more than 30 games plus mini bowling, where players earn e-tickets redeemable at the prize counter. For the youngest visitors, the dedicated play area is filled with giant inflatables, a soft ninja-themed playground, and a toddler zone for children three and under. The arcade game cards can even be used at the sister locations in Port Jefferson Station and Safari Adventure in Riverhead, which is a nice touch for families who visit often.
Birthday Parties That Practically Run Themselves
Xplore Commack is, above all, a birthday party destination, and it shows. There are three private party rooms and a range of packages — the Xplorer, Xtreme Xplorer, and Private Xplorer — so families can pick the attraction and level that best fit the birthday child’s age and interests. Laser tag parties, bounce house parties, or a combination of both are all on the table. Every party comes with a dedicated party host who guides the group, sets up the tables with paper goods, arranges the food and drinks, and handles all the cleanup afterward. The facility is open-play all day, meaning guests can keep enjoying the attractions even after the party officially ends. A full catering menu covers everything from pizza and pastas to chicken parm and wings, and a range of add-ons like glow karts, party favors, cakes, and cotton candy bins can be tacked on.
A Staff That Keeps Things Clean and Easy
Visitors consistently note how clean and well-maintained the facility is, and the staff play a big part in that. Party hosts are described in reviews as attentive, keeping the party room ready, food on time, and drinks filled throughout the celebration. The team handles the logistics so parents can mostly sit back and enjoy the day rather than managing the chaos. The venue also runs summer memberships, group and camp rates with discounted pricing, and a rewards program for frequent visitors. It’s a place that clearly thinks about the “littles” in its planning, from the toddler zone to go-karts sized for four-year-olds.
Comfort, Convenience, and Rainy-Day Fun
Because everything is indoors, Xplore Commack is a go-to for rainy days and cold weather. The facility is family-friendly and welcoming to all ages, with free admission for infants under 12 months accompanying an older sibling and for adults. Guests can stay and play all day, and the arcade, party rooms, and play areas keep everyone entertained for hours. It’s a versatile venue that works well for kids’ birthday parties, school groups, camps, and family outings. With its combination of the largest laser tag arena on Long Island, glow karting, an arcade, and a soft play area, it offers a genuinely diverse day of fun in a clean, safe, and friendly setting.
