Andretti Indoor Karting & Games San Antonio

A Karting and Laser Tag Destination at The Rim

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is located on the northwest side of San Antonio, Texas, along Loop 1604 West, next to The Rim shopping and entertainment district. It was the first Andretti Indoor Karting & Games in Texas, opened by the racing Andretti family in 2018, and the family chose San Antonio ahead of Houston and Dallas. The center is about 20 minutes from downtown and has no entry fee, so guests pay only for the attractions they choose.

Electric Karts on Two Tracks Plus a Kids’ Track

The center has two indoor racing tracks and a separate kids’ track, all climate controlled. The karts are Biz Kart Ecovolt GT electric models with instant acceleration, and they reach speeds of about 35 to 40 miles per hour. Tracks include hairpin turns, elevation changes, and long straightaways. Younger drivers have their own option: Mini Mario karts are available for drivers 4 to 7 years old. Karting requires a waiver on file, and parents or guardians must sign for guests under 18.

A Two-Level Laser Tag Arena

Laser tag takes place in a two-level arena, and sessions run about 10 minutes. Players tag opponents from different heights, and the arena is a popular add-on for groups that start with a race. Laser tag is included in the center’s attraction combos, so a group can race, play a round, and keep going without paying for each attraction separately. A waiver is required for laser tag as well.

VR, Racing Simulators, Ropes Course, and Duckpin Bowling

Beyond racing and laser tag, the center offers Hologate virtual reality, a 7D motion theater, professional Cruden racing simulators, and a ropes course with a curved zip line. Boutique duckpin bowling gives groups a slower game between races, and the arcade adds more games. This lineup suits date nights and family outings alike, and visitors describe a clean, modern building with plenty to do for both children and adults.

Parties, Private Events, and Group Outings

Andretti hosts birthday parties, company events, and other social gatherings, with dedicated event spaces, private bars, and customizable packages. One company that rented the center for a private event described it as well organized, with each guest receiving a wristband listing their race heat times. The center describes itself as a good fit for adult group outings, because karting, attractions, arcade games, and food and drinks are all in one place.

A Food Court With Four Cuisines and a Grill

The dining area is built around food trucks that serve four different cuisines, and the Andretti Grill offers a more traditional menu. Guests can eat between races without leaving the building, and the bar areas keep adult groups comfortable. After the final heat, the viewing areas above the track give groups a place to watch the next race.
