Where You'll Find It

Chambers Escape Games is located on the edge of Kakaako and Downtown Honolulu, a vibrant and centrally located neighborhood that puts it within easy reach of both locals and visitors exploring the island.

Two Ways to Play: Live-Action and Virtual Reality

The club offers two distinct types of escape experiences. The first is a premium live-action escape room called "The Temple," a physical, cinematic adventure where players walk through a meticulously designed set featuring sand on the floor, hieroglyphics, dim lighting, and sensor-based automated puzzles that react to your progress. It feels like stepping onto a movie set, with special effects and a multi-room layout that keeps the adventure unfolding. The second offering is a collection of multiplayer Virtual Reality escape rooms. Unlike typical VR, this is free-roam technology — players walk, move, and interact naturally within the virtual space, just as they would in the real world. The VR library includes themed adventures such as "Dragon Tower" (fantasy), "Space Station Tiberia" (sci-fi), "Depths of Osiris" (nautical), "Time Travel Paradox," "Manor of Escape" (horror), "Pirates Plague," "Runaway Train" (steampunk), and the newer "Alien Infection." The VR technology is designed to produce zero motion sickness, a claim the venue backs with a money-back guarantee.

What Makes the Gameplay Special

The live-action "Temple" room is a third-generation escape room, meaning it uses automated mechanisms, sound effects, and moving elements to create a dynamic experience that goes beyond simple lock-and-key puzzles. The set design has earned awards and nominations from international escape room critics for its immersive quality and cinematic gameplay. Players navigate through multiple chambers, solving puzzles that range from mildly complex to genuinely challenging, with a difficulty rating of 7 out of 10. The VR games, by contrast, allow for puzzle mechanics that are impossible in the physical world — floating in zero gravity, diving underwater, manipulating time, or casting spells. Each VR game accommodates 2 to 5 players and runs approximately 45 minutes, with difficulty ratings ranging from 6 to 9 out of 10. All games, both live-action and VR, are 100% private — your group plays alone, never mixed with strangers.

Beyond the Game: Events, Programs, and Extra Perks

Chambers Escape Games offers an "Escape Masters" loyalty program: complete any four escape rooms to unlock a 20% discount on all future games, a permanent victory photo on the Wall of Fame, and access to a secret Escape Master-only game. The venue also sells gift cards that come with bonus value. For younger children (ages 6 and under), spectating is allowed at reduced rates — $10 per child for VR games and free for the live-action room. The venue has hosted birthdays, graduations, team-building events, and school trips, and the staff is described by reviewers as genuinely personable, enthusiastic, and attentive. The facility includes a thematically decorated lobby with a black-and-gold color scheme, modern couches, and two large Anubis statues, providing a comfortable waiting area for groups.

The People Behind the Experience

The club was founded by Ron B., who designed the entire space himself, focusing on authentic, historically enriched storytelling combined with advanced technology. The game operators are consistently praised in reviews for being friendly, helpful, and passionate about what they do. They guide players through the experience without being intrusive, offering hints when needed and celebrating victories with genuine enthusiasm. The venue is a small, locally-owned business that takes pride in its Hawaiian roots and community connections.
