DoodleBug Sportz

A Family-Run Outdoor Paintball Park North of Seattle

DoodleBug Sportz Outdoor Paintball Park is located in Snohomish, Washington, north of Seattle, at the east end of the Everett area. The family-owned company has been part of Northwest paintball since 1999. It began when a father and son who loved playing with friends every weekend noticed a lack of supplies and organization at the games they attended, so the father built a mobile store to fill bottles and sell paintballs.

Five Themed Maps and Two Turfed Airball Fields

The park has five recreational maps with themes such as Castle, Black Hawk Down, and DoodleVille, plus two turfed airball fields for tournament-style play. Players check in at an orange booth at the end of the driveway, attend a short safety briefing, and are then directed to the fields by hosts. The park plays rain or shine, and reviewers note that a rainy morning can get very muddy. A pro shop sits at the beginning of the same driveway for gear, advice, and repairs.

Open Sessions Run by a Host Crew

In open sessions, staff organize pickup games for players who come alone or in small groups, so safety and fairness stay in the hands of the host crew. Typical rental players stay about two to two and a half hours and play several games every hour. First-timers are welcome, and options include traditional and low-impact sessions. A rental package includes the gun, mask, and paintballs, and extra protective gear can be added.

Low-Impact Play and Kids’ Sunday Sessions for Ages 6 to 12

Low-impact paintballs are .50 caliber and hit with about one third of the impact of traditional paintballs. Players must be at least 6 for low impact and 10 for standard impact. Kids’ sessions run on selected Sundays from 9 am to noon, with a safety briefing, target practice, and a referee guiding them throughout. Parents say the sessions frequently sell out, so reserving early matters. Private families can pick either option for a group of mixed ages.

Birthdays, Company Outings, and Church Groups

Private groups play only with their own group, and a dedicated host guides the games. Birthday packages include two hours of field access, 45 minutes afterward for food, cake, and presents, and a VIP gear upgrade for the birthday player. The park also hosts company outings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, church groups, and events such as league nights, big games, and the Ninjaball tournament series.
