Glory Paintball

Glory Paintball is located in League City, Texas, in the greater Houston metropolitan area, at 2600 Calder Road. Established in 2010, this outdoor paintball and airsoft facility was founded by Kyle Buckmaster, a Marine Corps veteran who served as an infantry machine-gunner in Ramadi, Iraq in 2006.

A Battlefield Built on Real Combat Experience

The playing field at Glory Paintball is unlike anything else in the Houston area. Drawing directly from Kyle’s military service, the facility was designed to recreate the intensity of urban combat in a safe, non-lethal format. The game zone is constructed as a simulated military base, surrounded by army vehicles, bunkers, and shipping containers that players can actually enter. Multi-story buildings with crawlspaces, stairs, and interior rooms dot the landscape, offering close-quarters combat opportunities alongside wide-open streets. The field features several distinct zones: a central two-story structure known as the “Mosque” (or “Killhouse”) that overlooks the entire middle field, a speedball field on one side with rearranged bunkers, a “Neighborhood” area with tight corners and small sheds, and “Downtown” — the largest and most open field. All fields have legitimate lighting for night play, which adds a whole new dimension to evening sessions.

More Than Just Paintball: Airsoft and Low-Impact Options

Glory Paintball offers three distinct ways to play: standard .68 caliber paintball, low-impact .50 caliber paintball (which uses smaller, lighter balls that hurt significantly less), and airsoft with plastic BBs. The low-impact option is the facility’s most popular product and is available for players as young as 7 years old. Standard paintball is available for ages 12 and up, while airsoft starts at age 10. For those looking to improve their game, Glory Paintball offers classes designed to teach strategy, communication, and shooting accuracy. The facility also hosts open play sessions where individual players can join games with strangers, as well as private play sessions where groups get the entire field to themselves. Private parties are available seven days a week, day or night, with reservations required.

Immersive Scenario Events: The CAX Experience

The crown jewel of Glory Paintball is CAX (Combined Arms eXercise) — a full-scale milsim scenario event that transforms the entire facility into a warzone for a weekend. During CAX, players participate in a series of scripted missions inspired by real military operations, including vehicle checkpoints, route clearance with IED defusing, kidnap and ransom scenarios, bomb factory raids, and full-scale FOB assaults. The event culminates in a massive “Invasion” where each faction takes turns attacking and defending. CAX events include on-site camping (both tent and awning options at no additional charge), free pizza and a movie on Saturday evening, and a “Warrior’s Breakfast” cooked by Kyle himself on Sunday morning. Temporary showers are set up for campers, and cots are available to rent. The field is constantly being modified and updated, so no two CAX events are ever the same.

Parties, Corporate Events, and Team Building

Glory Paintball is a popular destination for birthday parties, corporate team-building events, church youth groups, school outings, and bachelor parties. The facility’s military and police training-inspired scenarios are particularly well-suited for corporate teams looking to develop strategic thinking, communication, and collaboration under pressure. Reviews consistently praise the facility for handling large group parties, with one reviewer noting they drive nearly an hour and a half just to play there. The staff at Glory Paintball includes experienced referees who work for tips and are known for providing excellent customer service, offering tips and assistance to less experienced players. The owner, Kyle Buckmaster, is actively involved in the day-to-day operations and is known for his charismatic and hands-on approach. Visitors are welcome to bring their own food and drinks (no alcohol), and there’s a shop on-site selling paintballs, BBs, padding, smoke bombs, and grenades.

Practical Details for First-Time Visitors

The facility operates on a “field paint only” policy, meaning all paintballs must be purchased on-site. Paintball guns are chronographed at a maximum velocity of 250 fps, and airsoft guns at 400 fps with .20g BBs. There is no minimum shooting distance, which allows for close-quarters combat. Safety is a top priority, with mandatory eye, nose, and mouth protection in playing areas, and barrel blockers required in staging areas. The facility has limited parking (about 26 paved spaces plus additional overflow), so carpooling is encouraged. For CAX events, players can park at the nearby Cabela’s and carpool in. Indoor restrooms are available, and the facility is open for open play on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with private parties available seven days a week by reservation.
