Hogan’s Alley Paintball operates from two locations. The Super Store, Service Center, and Hydro Testing facility are at 998 North Colony Rd in Meriden, CT. The playing fields — Hogan’s Alley @ The Ridge — are situated at Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort at 99 Powder Hill Rd in Middlefield, CT. The move to Powder Ridge brought the paintball experience into a full resort setting with amenities that go far beyond the typical field.

Five Distinct Courses, One Unforgettable Experience

The field complex features five different courses designed for recreational, tournament, and non-contact gameplay. The NXL Airball field is built on artificial turf and follows the National X-ball League layouts that change several times a year — great for practicing for national events or just enjoying a super exciting field. The Hyperball field is a classic speedball original, one of the few in the world built on artificial turf for perfect slides. The Haunted Forest is the largest woodsball map they have ever made, featuring a crashed airplane, an abandoned waterpark, a creepy village, and ancient stone ruins. The Fuel Depot is a fast-action scenario field built on a remote mountain with a grassy field and amazing views, located right next to the zipline course for combo tickets. The Shooting Gallery is a non-contact option with custom-built animatronic moving targets — perfect for those who want all the fun without getting shot at. Coming soon, the Greg Hastings Time Trials will offer a non-contact paintball course with 83 targets and a global leaderboard. Every field is unique with its own theme. Some are set in open areas with air bunkers, while others are tucked into tree-dense zones with plenty of natural cover, camouflage nets, and man-made fortifications. The variety ensures that no two games feel the same.

Games for Every Style of Player

Hogan’s Alley offers three distinct ways to play paintball. Recreational paintball uses exclusive .50 caliber low-impact paintballs that have 33% less mass than tournament balls — all the fun with significantly less sting. This option is 99% rentals, meaning no professional players with their own gear join your games, keeping the playing field fair and friendly. Tournament paintball uses .68 caliber paintballs and is designed for players with their own equipment, including collegiate and league players. Non-contact paintball through the Shooting Gallery lets guests shoot at animatronic targets without ever being shot at — pay by the shot with no commitment. For airsoft enthusiasts, Hogan’s Alley offers private sessions with Tippmann HPA M4 carbines — reliable, realistic, and accurate. Airsoft is based on the honor system and is best suited for private groups of six or more, making it a great choice for military simulations or law enforcement training.

The rental equipment is top-notch — Hogan’s Alley is the only field in Connecticut to offer headwraps that absorb sweat and prevent fogging. Paintballs are stored in climate-controlled conditions to ensure they fly straight and break on contact. The service center is the world’s largest paintball service center, with a full machine shop that can manufacture custom parts and even rebuild antique paintball markers.

Hogan’s Alley @ The Ridge is an excellent venue for birthday parties, corporate team building, bachelor parties, church groups, family outings, school events, and fundraisers. Birthday party packages start at $545 for 10 people and include rental gear, paintballs, food, ice cream cake, and a private area for food with access to all playing fields and the shooting gallery. The Recreational Paintball Party Package includes 2 hours of field play followed by 1 hour in a private party cabin with pizza and ice cream cake. For corporate groups, the resort setting with its restaurant, tavern, and additional activities like ziplining makes for a memorable team-building experience.
