About

A Family Paintball Field in the Foothills Near Buckley

KC Crusaders Paintball is located in South Prairie, Washington, in Pierce County in the foothills southeast of Tacoma. The field opened in 1989, which makes it one of the oldest in the state. It describes itself as a family-friendly field where all levels of experience are welcome, and its mailing address uses the nearby town of Buckley.

Nine Fields on Different Terrain

The park has nine fields spread across varied terrain, so players move between woods, open ground, and themed layouts. Games run continually throughout the day on weekends, and groups can choose among several styles of play. Reviewers describe the field as the place to be for paintball in Washington State. A first-timer wrote that the staff made the first paintball experience awesome, and another reviewer called the owners and referees kind and welcoming.

Home of the Original 24 Hour Game

KC Crusaders calls itself the home of the original 24 Hour Game, a long-running overnight event that draws players from around the region. The field also runs monthly themed special events, MagFed and pump game days, and Kids Play Day events. Between events, walk-on games are open every Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm, rain or shine, with no reservation needed.

Rental Gear, Low-Impact Paint, and Walk-On Play

Equipment rental covers a paintball gun, full-face goggles, unlimited air, and the field fee, and gear upgrades such as an electronic gun are available for adults. Players can also add a chest protector, a pod pack, or a compressed air tank for a few dollars. Low-impact .50-caliber paintballs are available for every package, which helps younger or more cautious players. The field requires paint bought on site for safety reasons, and players must typically be at least 8 years old for parties and 14 for regular play.

Birthday Parties, Bachelor Groups, and Corporate Events

Private groups get their own field, a qualified referee, and a covered picnic area. The Silver Package is the most popular birthday option and includes a free gift bag and bandana for the birthday child. Bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate team building, and groups of friends can book the same packages. Parties require a $50 deposit, which counts toward the balance due on the day.
