About

A Laser Tag Arena With Serious History

LASERTRON is located in the Amherst neighborhood of Buffalo, New York, at 5101 North Bailey Avenue. It’s a company-owned flagship venue operated by LASERTRON Inc., the Western New York manufacturer that designs and builds its own laser tag equipment and arenas. Because the people running the floor are the same people who engineer the technology, the experience here is a working showcase of everything the brand builds. The arena itself is the centerpiece — a massive, multi-level, 100% LED-illuminated playing field that spans more than 9,000 square feet and is three to four times larger than most laser tag arenas in the country. It’s divided into 15 programmable sectors, each with its own scoreboard, lighting, and sound system. Players suit up in LASERTRON’s LT-12.9 PRO gear, and up to 46 players can battle at once. The whole space is designed to impress adults as much as kids, with pulsing, color-changing lighting that reacts to real-time gameplay.

Five Core Games, Played Back-to-Back

Instead of selling single rounds, LASERTRON runs 30-minute sessions in which players get six to seven games back-to-back. The five core game formats are Base, Headquarters, Battle Royale Squads, Domination, and King of the Hill — the same multiplayer modes that dominate online gaming, brought into a physical arena. In Headquarters, two teams race to destroy the opposing side’s bases before time runs out; in Battle Royale Squads, squads fight to be the last team standing. A standout feature is the automated team rebalancing software, which quietly swaps players between teams during a session so that both sides get a fair shot at winning. It keeps the competition close and ensures everyone ends up on a winning team at least once. Sessions are fully automated from start to finish, which lets the referees focus on coaching players, explaining rules, and keeping things safe.

More Than Just Laser Tag

Laser tag is the main draw, but it’s far from the only reason to visit. The venue also offers axe throwing, Krazy Darts (a high-tech interactive dart game), billiards, mini golf, and an arcade packed with both classic and modern games. There’s a bar and café on site serving Buffalo-style food like pizza and wings, plus a selection of beers for adults who want to unwind after a session. The social gaming lineup — axe throwing and Krazy Darts in particular — has become a major part of the experience, drawing in adult crowds who come for the competitive, social atmosphere. Between the attractions, the food, and the bar, it’s easy to spend a whole evening here rather than just one game.

Built for Adults, Welcoming to Everyone

LASERTRON positions itself as “where adults go to play with friends and family,” and the numbers back that up — over 60% of players are 18 or older. Adults are always welcome, while parents with kids must enter before 9 PM. The venue runs dedicated adult events, youth events, and team-building programs, making it a versatile spot for birthday parties, corporate gatherings, and group outings. The arena is designed to appeal to grown-ups who might otherwise skip a kids-focused laser tag venue, with a polished bar environment and adult-oriented amenities. That said, kids and teens love it just as much, and the venue regularly hosts youth birthday parties and family events. Whether it’s a milestone birthday, a company team-building day, or a casual night out with friends, the space adapts to the occasion.

A Friendly Crew and a Place to Hang Out

Reviews consistently single out the staff as friendly, knowledgeable, and caring — people who keep the venue clean and running smoothly and who take the time to help players improve their skills. The referees double as coaches, making sure everyone understands the games and plays safely. When the games are done, there’s plenty of room to relax. The café and bar serve food and drinks, and the venue offers a range of food packages — from a pizza buffet to a full hot buffet — along with drink ticket options and arcade cards. It’s a place designed for lingering, socializing, and laughing long after the last game ends.
