Main Event Grapevine

Main Event Grapevine sits in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, right at the corner of State Highway 114 and Main Street, just north of DFW Airport. It’s a 60,000-square-foot family entertainment center that has been a fixture of the Grapevine area for years, drawing locals and travelers alike with its mix of games, dining, and group-friendly spaces.

Multi-Level Laser Tag Battles

The centerpiece of the tactical side of Main Event Grapevine is its multi-level laser tag arena. Unlike the small, flat rooms found in many arcades, this arena is a sprawling two-story labyrinth packed with ramps, towers, obstacles, and drifting fog. Players climb up to elevated platforms to rain fire on opponents below, making every match a mix of stealth, strategy, and quick reflexes. Games run about 10 to 15 minutes, including equipment setup and instructions, and the arena supports both team-based and free-for-all modes. There’s a 42-inch height requirement, so it’s best suited to older kids and adults. The neon-lit, fantasy-style decor gives the space an immersive, almost otherworldly feel that keeps the energy high from the first round to the last.

Beyond Laser Tag: A Full Play Menu

While laser tag draws a lot of attention, Main Event Grapevine is really a one-stop entertainment hub. State-of-the-art bowling lanes with comfy couches and big screens host everything from casual games to Cosmic Bowling nights with glowing lanes. The arcade features over 100 video and interactive games, from racing simulators and giant mobile-style games to classic Skee-Ball and air hockey, plus redemption games where players trade tickets for prizes. There’s also a gravity ropes course suspended above the arcade floor, billiards and shuffleboard tables, immersive virtual reality experiences, and even story rooms that blend escape-room puzzles with video-game mechanics. With this much variety, it’s easy to spend an entire afternoon moving from one activity to the next without repeating yourself.

Built for Celebrations and Group Events

Main Event Grapevine is especially well set up for birthdays, corporate events, team building, school groups, and holiday parties. Birthday packages range from simple customizable celebrations to fully loaded blowouts, with options like “Birthday Your Way,” “The Ultimate Gamer,” “The Main Event,” and “Teen All Access.” Each package typically includes activities of your choice, a meal and soft drink, a fun card for arcade play, and a dedicated party host. For corporate and group gatherings, the venue offers flexible meeting rooms, team-building activities, and in-house catering, with the capacity to host events of up to 800 people. The weatherproof indoor setting makes it a reliable choice year-round, whether you’re planning a company outing, a school field trip, or a large family reunion.

Dining, Lounging, and the Little Extras

After the games wind down, there’s plenty of room to relax. The venue includes a full-service restaurant and bar, a pizza café, and catering for group events, with a menu of shareable dishes like wings, loaded nachos, and artisan pizza. A laid-back billiards area offers a more relaxed spot to unwind with friends over a drink, away from the high-energy arcade floor. The staff includes dedicated party hosts and event coordinators who handle the logistics of birthdays and group bookings, from scheduling to headcounts. Outside desserts like cakes are welcome, and the venue provides plates, napkins, and utensils. For families, bowling bumpers and lighter balls make the lanes accessible to younger kids, while the laser tag and ropes course give older children and adults a real challenge.

Practical Notes for Visitors

A few things are worth knowing before you go. Reservations for bowling lanes and activities are highly recommended, especially on evenings and weekends, to avoid long waits. The “All You Can Play” pass offers unlimited access to activities like bowling, laser tag, billiards, and gravity ropes, though arcade games are typically not included and require a separate Fun Card. Prices vary by weekday versus weekend, so visiting on a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon tends to offer the best value with thinner crowds. Outside food and drinks aren’t permitted, but the on-site restaurant covers everything from pizza and burgers to salads. The venue is wheelchair accessible, accepts major credit cards, and serves alcohol, making it comfortable for a wide range of guests and occasions.
