Main Event Newark

Main Event sits in the Fashion Center district of Newark, Delaware, just steps from the Christiana Mall, one of the region’s busiest shopping destinations. It is a sprawling, multi-activity entertainment hub that draws families, students, and corporate groups from across northern Delaware and nearby Pennsylvania.

Tactical Laser Tag in a Multi-Story Arena

The heart of the venue is its multi-level laser tag arena, a dark, neon-lit battlefield where players climb towers and weave through fantasy-themed decorations and a maze of obstacles. It is a genuinely tactical experience — teams can hold high ground, ambush from cover, and coordinate flanks across multiple floors, which keeps every round feeling fresh and competitive. Sessions are open to walk-ins and groups alike, and the arena is a favorite for birthday parties and team-building outings. The multi-story layout means there is real strategy to master, not just running and shooting, which is why both kids and adults keep coming back for another round.

Bowling, Arcade, and Everything in Between

Beyond laser tag, Main Event packs a remarkable amount of activity under one roof. There are state-of-the-art bowling lanes, a billiards area, and an arcade gallery featuring more than 100 of the latest interactive video games, from racing simulators to classic ticket games. The venue also offers virtual reality experiences, mini-golf, a gravity ropes course, and rock climbing where available. In short, it is the kind of place where a single visit can easily turn into a full afternoon — there is always something new to try, no matter how many times you have been.

Parties, Corporate Events, and Group Gatherings

Main Event is built around group celebrations. Its dedicated party team handles everything from kids’ birthday parties to school field trips, graduation and prom events, weddings, and quinceañeras. Each package comes with a dedicated party host who runs the show, reserved party space, and food options like pizza, sliders, and chicken dippers. For businesses, the venue offers corporate all-access passes, team-building programs, full facility buyouts, and all-day meeting rooms. Whether it is a casual happy hour with billiards or a large company outing, the staff tailor the experience to the size and mood of the group.

The People Behind the Fun

A big part of the experience is the staff. Each party and group package includes a dedicated host who manages the schedule, keeps games moving, and makes sure everyone knows where to go next. This hands-on support is especially valuable for large groups, where coordination can otherwise get chaotic. The venue also runs a Play Academy program in partnership with STEM.org, offering accredited STEAM curriculum that blends real lessons with the games kids love. It is a thoughtful touch that shows the team cares about more than just entertainment.

Places to Unwind Between Games

When the action gets intense, there is a comfortable recreation area with snacks and drinks where players can catch their breath and compare scores. For larger events, semi-private and private event spaces are available, including banquet-style setups for corporate dinners and celebrations. The combination of active play and relaxed lounge space makes it easy to spend hours here without anyone getting bored or worn out. It is a venue that works equally well for a quick evening of bowling or a full-day group celebration.
