About
Laser Tag and Bowling Near Baylor University
Main Event is located in Waco, Texas, in the Cottonwood Creek Market shopping center on the city’s southwest side, near Baylor University. The center opened on April 1, 2022, as the chain’s 50th location in the United States. It sits in a shopping center that also has a Topgolf and a multi-screen movie theater, so a visit can fit into a larger evening out.
Multi-Level Laser Tag in a Special Arena
Laser tag is the main team game here. The Waco location was built with multi-level laser tag areas, and the general manager described it as having a special arena. Players climb between levels, use walls for cover, and score points with infrared blasters. The chain offers team modes and free-for-all matches. A height requirement applies, which is 42 inches according to the chain’s activity page, so it is worth checking before bringing very young guests.
22 Bowling Lanes, VIP Lanes, and Gravity Ropes
The bowling center has 22 lanes, and a unique VIP lanes area offers private seating for guests who want more space. Gravity Ropes, a high ropes course above the floor, gives guests a physical challenge between rounds. More than 100 arcade games and a virtual reality gaming space round out the activities. The building covers nearly 49,000 square feet, which leaves room for groups to spread out.
Birthdays, Bar Mitzvahs, and School Outings
Main Event Waco hosts birthday parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, school outings, holiday gatherings, and team-building events. Event coordinators help plan the details, send out invitations, and take care of cleanup. Private party rooms come with free Wi-Fi, big-screen TVs, and audiovisual technology. Corporate groups can book the center for holiday parties and meetings, and full-service catering is available. The center also supports local causes, including a partnership with The Cove, a community program for high school students experiencing homelessness.
A Full Menu and Bar Between Rounds
The restaurant serves American favorites such as pizza, burgers, and wings, and a full-service bar offers beer and cocktails. Guests can eat between activities without leaving the building, and adults can follow a game on the big screens while children play. After the last match, the dining area is a good place to compare scores and plan a rematch.
