About

MI-Combat is located in Madison Heights, Michigan, just off John R Road, a short drive north of Detroit in Oakland County.

Where Tactical Laser Tag Meets Hollywood Realism

Step inside MI-Combat and you will find yourself on a 12,000-square-foot arena designed to look like a realistic Hollywood set based on the streets of Detroit. This is not your childhood laser tag with black lights and flimsy plastic guns. The arena features multiple levels, urban-style cover, and immersive lighting and sound that make every mission feel like a scene from an action film. The attention to detail in the set design creates an atmosphere where strategy and quick thinking matter just as much as aim. The equipment is equally impressive. Players use the irSMG, a weapon system modeled after real-world components with authentic weight, recoil, muzzle flash, and reload mechanics. The magazine drops, you slap it back in, and the two-stage trigger gives you single or burst fire options. Every shot is tracked in real time, and your performance — kill count, accuracy, and more — is logged to an online profile you can compare against players worldwide.

28 Missions and Counting: A Game for Every Play Style

With over 28 different missions available, no two visits to MI-Combat need to feel the same. The game library includes classics like Team Deathmatch and Elimination, alongside creative scenarios such as Terminator, Black Hawk Down, The Juggernaut, S.W.A.T., Infected, and Sniper. Some missions emphasize teamwork and objective-based strategy, while others let individual skill shine. Each session runs about 90 minutes, with roughly an hour of play broken into 5-minute missions, giving players a chance to adapt and improve between rounds. The software behind the game automatically balances teams based on skill level, so newcomers and seasoned players alike can enjoy a fair and challenging match. Whether you come with a group of friends or fly solo, you will be placed on a team and thrown into the action.

More Than Laser Tag: Pixel Floor and Beyond

Beyond the main arena, MI-Combat offers the Pixel Floor — an interactive, arcade-style floor game that blends light, music, and movement. With seven game modes including party and versus options, it works as a standalone activity or a warm-up before laser tag. The floor accommodates up to four adults or six kids and tracks scores on a leaderboard for those with a competitive streak. The facility also sells snacks, drinks, energy drinks, and branded merchandise like t-shirts, sweatshirts, headbands, and hats. A small selection of single-serve snacks and Mini Melts ice cream is available for purchase. Players are encouraged to bring a non-spill water bottle, as there are water bottle holders at the bases on the field.

Built for Groups: Birthdays, Teams, and Corporate Events

MI-Combat is a natural fit for birthday parties, bachelor parties, team gatherings, family reunions, and corporate team-building events. The facility includes a spacious, easily accessible party room where groups can celebrate before or after their session. Private events can be booked for exclusive use of the arena, with options for Lieutenant (children 11 and under using Barracuda equipment during designated hours), Captain (minimum 20 players), and Colonel (all 30 spots) packages. The staff is known for being helpful and attentive, guiding groups through the check-in process, gear fitting, and mission briefings. Players are asked to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled time to complete registration, create or link their player profile, and get geared up. The first membership card is free, and returning players are encouraged to bring it for faster check-in.

A Local Independent Business with a Global Community

MI-Combat is a small, independent business — not a franchise. It is part of a network of venues around the world that use the iCombat software system, meaning your membership card works at partner locations in other states and even other countries. The team regularly donates tickets and merchandise to support local schools, charities, and community outreach programs, and they welcome ideas for new partnerships. The atmosphere is energetic and sweat-inducing — a genuine workout disguised as a game. Players are advised to dress in breathable athletic clothing with closed-toe, non-slip shoes. The facility is cleaned thoroughly between sessions, and the gear is sanitized with ProKure and dried in a ventilated cabinet after each use.
