A Six-Acre Outdoor Paintball Field Near Mount Vernon

Paintball Station is located in Mount Vernon, Washington, in Skagit County, about 40 minutes north of Seattle and a mile west of Interstate 5. The six-acre outdoor field has been run by its owner, Bob Wiggins, since 2000. It is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays all year round, and reviewers say Bob has spent years building a unique field that is a blast to play.

An Elevated Bridge, Towers, and Fast Games With Plenty of Cover

The center of the field features an elevated bridge with towers running through it, surrounded by fast-paced games with lots of cover. The field is compact, so every game stays close and busy. Reviewers describe the layout as a blast to play and say the prices are unbeatable. One visitor noted that it is the only paintball field open to walk-ons on Sunday.

Mission-Based Games Built for First-Timers

The owner designs games around objectives instead of last-person-standing elimination. Mission games include Capture the Base, Dictator, Medic, Revive, and Attack and Defend, so first-time players are not hunted down and have an important role on the field. New players are advised to say that they are new, because experienced players will help and tell them what to do. Goggles and barrel blockers are required in the staging area, and the minimum age is 8, with an adult required for younger weekend walk-ons.

Walk-On Weekends and Airsoft on the Second Saturday

Walk-on paintball runs on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm. A rental gun includes goggles and admission, and players with their own equipment pay less. The field uses field paint only. On the second Saturday of every month, the field switches to airsoft in a separate area called Airsoft Acres, with admission at a flat price. A few grilled foods are sometimes available on site.

Private Parties on Weekends and Weekdays

Private parties are available on weekends and on weekdays by appointment. Weekend parties start with check-in at 3:30 and play begins at 4 pm for two hours, with a minimum of eight players. Weekday parties offer three hours of private play with a minimum of 12 rental guns. A deposit of $100 secures a party, and larger groups of more than 20 mail their payment by check. Birthday groups, corporate teams, and friends all use the same packages.
