About

Sandbox VR Dallas is located in the Mockingbird Station district of Dallas, Texas, on the first floor corner of the Mockingbird Station complex, a lively mixed-use hub in the city’s northeast side.

Step Into Worlds You’ve Only Watched

This is not the kind of virtual reality you play sitting on a couch. Sandbox VR Dallas is a room-scale, multiplayer, full-body VR venue where groups of up to six people freely roam a shared space while their real bodies become their virtual avatars. Precise trackers on your wrists, ankles, and head translate your actual movements into the game, so you see your whole body moving naturally inside the digital world. Haptic vests deliver real physical feedback — shots, hits, bites, and impacts — and physical props respond with real-time recoil, making the experience feel startlingly real. Because you see your own body moving naturally, motion sickness is largely a non-issue here, which makes the experience comfortable for newcomers and seasoned players alike. No gaming experience is required; if you can show up, you can play. Each session is built around teamwork, so the shared adventure is what people remember most — coordinating with your crew, reacting to unexpected moments, and laughing about it long after the headset comes off.

A Roster of Cinematic Adventures

The game library reads like a streaming queue of blockbuster favorites. Guests can compete in Netflix’s Squid Game Virtuals, battle Demogorgons in Stranger Things: Catalyst, and survive a zombie apocalypse across the Deadwood series — including the best-selling Deadwood PHOBIA and Deadwood Mansion. Sci-fi fans can blast through Rebel Moon: The Descent, while fantasy crews explore Seekers of the Shard: Dragonfire, and space adventurers take on Amber Sky 2088. There’s also the swashbuckling Curse of Davy Jones and the sports-themed UFL. For families and younger explorers, the newest title, Age of Dinosaurs, offers a gentler, awe-filled journey back over 150 million years to walk among lifelike Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, and Tyrannosaurus rex. Developed in partnership with the Natural History Museum, it leans into discovery rather than intensity, making it an especially good fit for mixed-age groups and a welcome indoor escape from Dallas summers.

Built for Group Play, Not Solo Sessions

The venue spans 5,500 square feet and features four state-of-the-art VR rooms, each designed to give a group a truly shared experience. Every adventure is built for teams of up to six, so the focus is always on coordinating, reacting, and playing together rather than competing alone. The rooms are set up for free-roam movement, letting players physically move through the environment, duck behind cover, and interact with one another in real time. A typical visit runs about 60 minutes, which includes gearing up with the haptic vests and trackers, playing the experience, snapping photos, and watching your group’s personalized cinematic highlight reel afterward. The staff handles the setup and guides each group through the session, and the on-site team is known for being attentive — quickly stepping in to fix any technical hiccup so play can continue without missing a beat.

Parties, Teams, and Everything in Between

Sandbox VR Dallas is a natural fit for birthdays, corporate events, team building, school trips, bachelor and bachelorette parties, graduations, and date nights. The venue offers dedicated packages: a Gold Package for birthday celebrations and small social groups, an Ultimate Play Bundle for corporate teams and larger gatherings, and a special Age of Dinosaurs Birthday Adventure for young dinosaur fans. Staff can transform areas into semi-private zones for team gatherings and celebrations, and a VR room can even be repurposed into a private lounge or meeting space with AV capabilities for presentations or group sessions. The space is designed to handle everything from an intimate crew of six to larger corporate groups of up to eighteen, with catering permitted for bigger events. Whether it’s a milestone birthday, a team-building day, or simply a memorable hangout, the venue is set up to make the occasion feel special without the usual planning hassle.

More Than Just a Game

Beyond the gameplay itself, the experience is built around the social moment. After your session, you gather to watch your cinematic highlight reel together — a personalized recap of your adventure that becomes a keepsake of the day. The venue’s location inside Mockingbird Station places it among shops, dining, and entertainment, so the outing can easily extend into a full day or evening in the neighborhood. With a 4.9-star rating from over eleven thousand reviews, the Dallas location has built a reputation as a standout group activity in the city. It’s an active, indoor experience that works for every skill level, from families with young kids to corporate teams looking for a genuinely different way to connect. If you can show up, you can play — and you’ll likely leave with a new set of inside jokes.
