Spare Time Entertainment in Chattanooga is very much open and operating. It’s a full-scale entertainment facility located on Brainerd Road in the South Brainerd area of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and it continues to draw families, groups, and night-out crowds with its mix of bowling, arcade games, laser tag, and dining.
A Complete Entertainment Destination
Spare Time Chattanooga is built around the idea that one venue should be able to cover an entire outing. The facility brings together luxury bowling lanes, a sprawling Game Zone arcade, a full restaurant and bar, and a state-of-the-art laser tag arena under one roof. That combination means a single visit can move seamlessly from a few frames of bowling to an arcade session and a round of laser tag without anyone having to leave the building. The space is designed to appeal across generations. Kids, teens, and adults all find something that fits their pace, whether that’s a casual family afternoon, a competitive night between friends, or a relaxed meal at the restaurant. The bowling lanes come with oversized video screens and comfortable lounge seating, giving the whole venue a polished, modern feel that goes beyond a typical bowling alley.
Step Into the Laser Tag Arena
The laser tag arena is one of the main draws at Spare Time Chattanooga. It’s a high-tech battleground where players are immediately immersed in a dark, atmospheric space filled with spooky fog and dynamic effect lighting. The pulse-pounding music that fills the arena adds to the tension, making each match feel like a proper mission rather than a simple game of tag. The arena is well suited to both casual players and those looking for a more competitive experience. Groups can jump into a game together, and additional players can be added on the spot, which makes it easy to accommodate whatever size crowd shows up. Whether it’s a group of friends testing their aim or a family trying to outmaneuver each other, the arena delivers a memorable, high-energy experience that keeps people coming back for another round.
Beyond the Arena: Lanes, Arcade & Dining
Outside the laser tag arena, the Game Zone arcade is a destination in its own right. It’s packed with a wide array of games, from classic favorites like Skee Ball and Air Hockey to newer virtual reality experiences that push the boundaries of what an arcade can offer. The mix of nostalgic and cutting-edge games means there’s something for everyone, whether you grew up on the classics or are looking for the latest tech. The dining side of the venue rounds out the experience. A full restaurant and bar serve chef-crafted meals and signature beverages, and the menu is available both in the restaurant and right on the lanes. For larger gatherings, there’s a full catering menu with options like lunch and dinner buffets, plated meals, and passed appetizers. It’s the kind of setup that lets a group eat well without ever having to pause the fun.
Events, Parties & Group Gatherings
Spare Time Chattanooga is a popular spot for celebrations of all kinds. The facility hosts corporate events, holiday parties, team-building outings, wedding celebrations, fundraisers, school field trips, birthday parties, reunions, bridal showers, bar and bat mitzvahs, and quinceañeras. From cozy private event spaces to full-facility rentals, the venue can accommodate groups of all sizes, with a maximum capacity of around 800 guests. For birthdays specifically, there are several structured packages that combine bowling, laser tag, arcade play, and food, each with a dedicated party host to handle setup and cleanup. There are also dedicated event spaces, including a VIP suite with private lanes, plush seating, custom dining, a private bar with staff, shuffleboard, a fireplace, and private restrooms. Whether it’s a child’s birthday, a corporate retreat, or a graduation celebration, the event team works to tailor the experience to the group.
The People Behind the Fun
A big part of what makes Spare Time Chattanooga work is the staff. Birthday parties come with a dedicated party host who sets everything up, cleans up afterward, and makes sure the event runs smoothly, so parents and hosts can actually relax and enjoy the celebration. The event team is also on hand to help plan larger gatherings, from corporate functions to weddings. Reviews of the venue consistently mention the friendly, welcoming nature of the staff, with guests noting that they were greeted with a smile and good people skills. That level of service, combined with the variety of activities under one roof, is what turns a simple outing into a place people return to. It’s the kind of venue where the staff genuinely seems to enjoy helping guests have a good time, which makes a noticeable difference in the overall experience.
