About

Spare Time Omaha sits in the Lakeside Hills Plaza in the western part of Omaha, Nebraska, inside a bright, modern family entertainment complex that opened its doors in late 2023.

More Than a Bowling Alley

Spare Time Omaha is a full-scale luxury entertainment center rather than a single game. The main floor holds 14 upscale bowling lanes with giant video screens and plush couches, while a separate Game Zone arcade packs in more than 80 video games ranging from racing simulators to classic Skeeball. Guests can move freely between lanes, arcade cabinets, and the laser tag arena over the course of an evening. The venue was built around the idea of “eat, play, and stay,” and the layout encourages visitors to drift from one activity to the next. Whether someone arrives for a quick game or plans to spend the whole day, there is always another option waiting a few steps away.

Heart-Pounding Laser Tag Battles

The laser tag arena accommodates up to 20 players at a time, making it a solid choice for larger groups and friendly rivalries. The game revolves around zapping opponents while working to destroy their base, a format that rewards both quick reflexes and teamwork. The arena is fully indoors and geared toward players aged six and up. Because the space is sized for two dozen people, it works well for birthday parties, school groups, and corporate teams looking to break the ice. The venue also runs themed “After Dark” nights where unlimited bowling, music, and light shows run late into the evening.

Escape Rooms With a Story

Two immersive escape rooms sit alongside the laser tag arena, each with its own narrative. The shorter 30-minute room drops players into a cryogenic chamber aboard a crashed ship, where they must escape the clutches of a slaver before time runs out. The 60-minute room sends teams into Area 51 to find proof of aliens, testing both logic and nerve. Both rooms are priced per person and make for a great team-building exercise, date night, or group challenge. The puzzles require communication and cooperation, so they tend to bring out the best in mixed groups of friends and coworkers.

Dining, Drinks, and a Signature Dessert

A full-service restaurant and bar anchor the venue, serving hand-tossed pizzas, chef-crafted burgers, and shareable appetizers. The bar pours signature cocktails and mocktails, including a strawberry-and-boba creation that has become a local favorite. For dessert, the “Share Time Sunday” is a show-stopping platter loaded with ice cream, warm pretzel brownie, Belgian waffle pieces, marshmallows, and chocolate and caramel sauce. The venue operates on a cashless system, with credit, debit, and Spare Time cards accepted at all restaurant and entertainment counters. Cash can be loaded onto a Spare Time card at red teller machines near the front entrance.

Private Events and the Elite Suite

For milestone birthdays, company parties, and holiday gatherings, the Elite Suite offers a more exclusive setting with eight private bowling lanes, a full bar, private restrooms, plush seating, a fireplace, and an HD video wall with AV hookups for presentations. The suite uses billiard-style bowling balls, a signature touch that sets it apart from the main lanes. The venue can host groups of nearly any size, with a capacity of around 950 guests across multiple event spaces. Custom dining options range from buffet spreads and plated dinners to appetizer platters and a prime rib carving station, making it a popular choice for weddings, fundraisers, quinceañeras, bar and bat mitzvahs, field trips, and banquets. A dedicated events team handles planning and hosting so guests can focus on having fun.
