About

Survival Game of Texas sits on 47 acres in the Aldine district of north Houston, just off the North Central Beltway 8. It has called this corner of the city home since 1984, which makes it the oldest paintball park in Texas and the first paintball park in Houston. The park is family-owned and has been run by the same family for more than four decades.

Six Battlefields That Rewrite History

The heart of the park is its collection of six custom-designed outdoor fields, each built around a distinct historical setting. Players can storm the beaches of Normandy, complete with sand dunes, Czech hedgehogs, wooden bridges, and a two-story French house defended from elevated catwalks. A working German WWII tank adds to the intensity of that map. The Vietnam War is represented through several fields, including Firebase, a jungle-like maze of towers, bridges, and natural terrain, plus Vietnam Village, where authentic Hanoi-style huts, fortified bunkers, and thick bamboo patches create perfect conditions for ambushes. Khe Sanh Hill offers elevated fire bases surrounded by natural creeks and valleys. For a change of pace, the Western Town transports players to an 1890s Wild West setting with seven buildings, including a jail, bank, schoolhouse, and a two-story hotel saloon with swinging doors. The Castle map features four interconnected wooden castles with towers, catwalks, and winding staircases.

Tactical Games and Scenario Play

Gameplay at the park is built around objective-based scenarios rather than simple free-for-alls. Capture the Flag is a staple on the Vietnam Village map, while defenders and attackers trade roles on Khe Sanh Hill, where attackers can approach from all four directions. Normandy centers on controlling the bridges and overthrowing the French house. The park also hosts special events, including seven-hour scenario games that draw dedicated players from across the region. A woodsball league gives regulars a chance to compete in structured play, and referees explain each round clearly before it begins, which makes the experience approachable for first-timers. The park is open seven days a week, with open play hours on weekends and reservation-based play during the week.

Gear, Rentals, and Low-Impact Options

Rental packages include a semi-automatic paintball marker, facemask, goggles, all-day compressed air, and access to every field, with a designated referee assigned to each group. Players who bring their own equipment can use the park’s fields with all-day air included. A players package special bundles 300 paintballs per person into the full-day rental. For younger visitors, the park offers low-impact paintball with lighter markers and full headgear for ages 9 and up, while regular paintball is open to ages 12 and up. Airsoft is also available by reservation, with dedicated time slots on weekends, using fully automatic light airsoft markers and maps that include the Castle, Vietnam Village, and Khe Sanh Hill. An on-site paintball store sells markers, paintballs, tactical vests, grenades, pod packs, and air tanks.

More Than a Game: Parties and Team Building

The park has hosted birthday parties, bachelor celebrations, youth groups, and corporate outings since 1984. For companies, it positions itself as an alternative to trust falls and conference rooms, offering a high-energy team-building experience that forces staff to communicate, strategize, and execute under pressure. Corporate packages can be arranged for either airsoft or paintball, with gear, safety briefings, and game scenarios handled by the park. For birthday parties, the park provides all the gear and supervision, with referees staying with the group to enforce safety rules, so parents can simply show up and enjoy the day. Group rates apply for parties of five or more, and larger groups of ten or more qualify for discounted pricing on both paintball and low-impact packages.

The People Behind the Park

The staff and referees are a big part of what keeps players coming back. Reviews consistently highlight helpful, patient staff who walk newcomers through the rules and answer questions without making anyone feel rushed. Referees stay with each group to ensure fair play and strict safety standards, which is especially reassuring for families with younger players. As a family-owned operation with over 40 years of experience, the park has hosted thousands of groups and knows how to manage large teams smoothly. The combination of experienced referees, industry-standard gear, and a strong emphasis on safety has earned it a loyal following among families, enthusiasts, and corporate teams alike.

Comfort and Amenities for a Full Day Out

Because the full-day format runs from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, the park is set up for extended visits. Outside food and drinks are welcome, so groups can bring a cooler with sandwiches, and ordering pizza on-site is also an option. Shaded areas around the fields provide places to rest between matches. The park also offers photo and film opportunities, letting visitors capture the action during live games. With its combination of themed fields, on-site store, and comfortable resting spots, it is well suited for a full day of outdoor activity for families, friends, and work teams.
