TAG Adventure Park is located in Hollister, California, along San Benito Street — about 30 miles south of San Jose and roughly 45 minutes from Monterey, nestled in the rolling hills of San Benito County.
More Than Paintball — A Full Adventure Park
TAG Adventure Park has evolved well beyond its paintball roots. While paintball remains a core offering, the park now hosts airsoft, gellyball, laser tag, archery, a firearm simulator, an airgun range, a sniper tower experience, a quick draw competition, and even LARPer events. It is one of the few places in California where a group can show up and choose between half a dozen different combat-style activities under one roof — or rather, under one open sky. The park spans a large property with over ten courses that can be combined to create larger, more dynamic playing fields. The variety is striking: there are speedball courses for tournament-style play, a CQB course used by law enforcement during the week, a trench system designed by a decorated US Marine, a paintball fort, foxholes, and natural terrain along a riverbed. Beginners are separated from experienced players to keep the experience fair and enjoyable for everyone.
Paintball for Every Comfort Level
TAG offers three distinct levels of paintball impact. High Impact (.68 caliber) is tournament-style and will leave a mark. Medium Impact (.68 caliber) is TAG's own proprietary formula — developed over ten years with over $500,000 in research — delivering about 50% less energy transfer than standard high-impact paintballs. Low Impact (.50 caliber) is even lighter, described by regulars as feeling like the snap of a rubber band. All paintballs used on-site are eco-friendly, non-staining, biodegradable, and water-soluble. Walk-on players are welcome without reservations on weekends. Rental packages include a paintball marker, safety mask, unlimited compressed air fills, and access to all courses. Players who bring their own mask receive a discount. The park also offers memberships for self-equipped players who visit regularly.
Airsoft, Gellyball, and Beyond
Airsoft days are held on select Saturdays and Sundays, with both rental and self-equipped options available. The park uses .50 caliber rental guns for a lighter experience, while experienced players can bring their own .68 caliber markers. Gellyball is offered as a private party activity on a dedicated artificial turf course — a no-mess alternative that works well for younger children and families. For those looking for something different, the Run & Gun Time Trials let players race against the clock on an interactive target range. The park also features a 25-yard airgun range, a two-story sniper tower with a 360-degree view of the entire property, and a cowboy quick draw competition using era-authentic revolvers converted to fire special ammunition. Archery was added in late 2025 as the newest venue.
Built for Groups, Celebrations, and Team Building
TAG Adventure Park is a natural fit for birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate team-building events, and church or youth group outings. Private group packages include a dedicated picnic area under aluminum-covered tables, a private course (including a $100,000 space-themed course), and a brand-new mask for each player to keep. The park also offers a private ECONO paintball party package with pump-action guns for a more tactical, ammo-conscious experience. Spectators are welcome and can watch the action from elevated watch towers positioned around the property. The towers also make for excellent spots to take aerial photos and videos of the games below.
Comfort, Safety, and a Crew That Cares
The park has been family-owned and operated since 1984, making it the fifth oldest paintball company in the world. The staff is known for being professional, safety-conscious, and genuinely passionate about the sport. Safety briefings are thorough, and referees are present on the field during all games. The park uses a unique "TAG Cards" system — an anti-bullying device that lets players call out unsportsmanlike behavior, reducing incidents by over 90%. The staging area features 7,000 square feet of aluminum-covered picnic tables with high-pressure misters that can cool the air by up to 30 degrees in summer. The netting around the staging area is doubled for extra safety. Snacks and drinks are available on-site, and several local pizza places deliver to the park. The atmosphere is down-to-earth, welcoming, and built around the idea that safety and fun go hand in hand.
