About

Undead Acres paintball arena is located in Monee, Illinois, about an hour south of Chicago, set within the grounds of Santa Fe Landscaping & Nursery on Crete-Monee Road.

A One-of-a-Kind Zombie Paintball Safari

The heart of Undead Acres is its Zombie Paintball Safari — a ride through a zombie-infested nursery aboard a specially designed trailer outfitted with mounted paintball guns. Guests fire at live actors playing the undead, who chase the trailer and put on a show. The paintballs are filled with neon paint that glows under blacklights, making every hit a vivid burst of color as night falls. The safari is designed to be thrilling but safe — the zombies don’t shoot back. It’s a family-friendly experience that balances excitement with a touch of horror, suitable for kids and adults alike. Each rider gets 80 paintballs to start, with the option to purchase extra ammo for more trigger time.

More Than Just a Shooting Gallery

Beyond the main safari, Undead Acres offers a full lineup of interactive attractions. The Shooting Gallery lets visitors practice their aim with mounted paintball guns at stationary targets. The Haunted Evergreen Maze winds through over 500 evergreen trees, filled with scare actors and hidden surprises — this one is not recommended for the easily frightened. There’s also an Axe Throwing cage for those 12 and up, adding a rustic, hands-on challenge to the evening. All of these activities can be enjoyed individually or bundled into combo packages, making it easy to spend a full evening exploring everything the venue has to offer.

A Haunted Nursery Turned Playground

The setting itself is part of the charm. Undead Acres takes over a working plant nursery, transforming it into a post-apocalyptic zombie hunting ground. The natural landscape — rows of evergreens, open fields, and winding paths — becomes the backdrop for both the paintball ride and the haunted maze. As dusk turns to dark, blacklights and special effects illuminate the arena, creating an eerie, immersive atmosphere that feels a world away from the suburbs. The venue is wheelchair accessible, including the paintball trailer, which has a designated area for guests with mobility needs. Free parking is available on-site.

Built for Groups, Families, and Celebrations

Undead Acres is a natural fit for group outings — whether it’s a birthday party, a corporate team-building event, a family reunion, or just a night out with friends. The variety of activities means there’s something for everyone, from the brave souls who tackle the haunted maze to the kids and adults who prefer shooting zombies from the safety of the trailer. Reviewers frequently mention bringing multi-generational groups and everyone finding something to enjoy. The venue operates on a first-come, first-served basis with tickets sold only at the door, which keeps the experience spontaneous and unpressured.

Friendly Faces and a Cozy Atmosphere

The staff at Undead Acres consistently earn praise in visitor reviews for being welcoming, enthusiastic, and genuinely invested in making sure guests have a great time. Many describe it as a family-run operation where the crew goes out of their way to be helpful. Between activities, guests can warm up by the campfire, grab hot chocolate or snacks from the on-site concession, and soak in the crisp fall evening. It’s this balance of scares and comfort that keeps people coming back year after year.
