Xtreme Paintball and Airsoft is located in Agawam, Massachusetts, just off Main Street and only about five minutes from Six Flags New England. Sitting on 20 acres of outdoor space, this family-run field has been a go-to destination for paintball and airsoft enthusiasts across the Springfield and Hartford areas.
Seven Unique Battlefields, One Destination
What sets this place apart is the sheer variety of playing fields. There are seven distinct zones, each with its own personality. Nuketown is a fan favorite — a Call of Duty-inspired arena featuring a school bus, an old truck, and a few buildings with spooky mannequins tucked inside. Fort Xtreme offers towering forts and castle-style walls spread across a large 120-square-foot arena. The Village field is built around several shacks and houses, perfect for capture-and-defend scenarios. The Tire Field is designed for larger-scale tournaments, accommodating up to 100 players, while the Short Field and Speedball Field keep things tight and fast-paced for smaller groups. There is also a dedicated Firing Range for warming up or testing gear.
More Than Just Paintball
While paintball is the main attraction, the club also offers airsoft and low-impact paintball. Low-impact guns use smaller paintballs at half the speed, delivering about a quarter of the impact — a great option for younger players or anyone looking for a gentler introduction to the sport. Airsoft replicates a military combat experience with authentic-looking weapons firing small plastic pellets. All three activities take place across the same seven fields, so the experience can be tailored to the group's comfort level and age range. Beginners are especially welcome, with Saturdays designated as beginner days where electronic loaders are not allowed, keeping the pace manageable for new players.
Built for Groups and Celebrations
The facility is well-suited for a wide range of events. Birthday parties are a staple here, but the space also works beautifully for corporate team-building events, bachelor and bachelorette parties, church and youth group outings, and school events. Private party packages are available for groups of ten or more, and they include a dedicated referee, rental equipment, and access to a covered party area with picnic tables. For those looking for an even more exclusive experience, entire fields can be rented out for groups of up to 30 players.
Staff, Safety, and the Little Extras
The referees and staff are frequently mentioned by returning visitors as being attentive, safety-conscious, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Safety is taken seriously — masks are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized between uses, all markers must pass a chronograph test, and barrel covers are required when not on the field. A digital waiver system makes check-in smooth. On-site, there is a pro shop carrying paintball and airsoft gear, as well as home defense products. Extra equipment like smoke grenades, riot shields, protective vests, and pod packs can be rented for an additional fee.
A Place to Relax and Refuel
After a few rounds of play, guests can unwind in a spacious lounge area or grab a bite at the snack bar. Pizza by the slice, soda, water, and Gatorade are all available for a dollar or two — nothing fancy, just the basics done right. The covered picnic area provides a comfortable spot for groups to eat, celebrate, and relive the day's best moments. It is the kind of place where you can show up with a group of friends, spend a couple of hours running through themed battlefields, and leave already planning the next visit.
