Zombieburgh Lazer Tag

Zombieburgh Lazer Tag is tucked into the lower level of the Monroeville Mall in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, near the Macy’s department store at Ace’s Breakaway and Play Arcade. It’s a locally-owned, family-run adventure arena that has been part of the Pittsburgh-area entertainment scene since 2015.

Tactical Games That Keep You Moving

The heart of the venue is its laser tag battles, powered by the latest version of the popular Lazer Runner system—a high-tech setup that tracks every shot and scores each player in real time. Every participant is outfitted with a battle vest and laser gun built with some of the safest and most advanced equipment available today. Players weave through the arena shooting opponents and targets to rack up points, with a quick five-second reset that keeps everyone in the action without ever having to return to a base station. It’s a genuinely social experience. After each round, players can pull up their stats on a screen and see exactly who came out on top, which adds a friendly competitive edge to every game. Whether you’re playing solo or as part of a team, the objective stays the same: score as many points as you can while dodging the undead.

A Post-Apocalyptic Arena Built for Strategy

The arena itself is a 3,000-square-foot, custom-designed space that was hand-painted by local artist Ted Penovich. It’s styled to feel like a city overrun by zombies, complete with abandoned buildings, eerie lighting, and a challenging maze that rewards players who know how to use cover. Specialty lighting and pulsating music set the mood, while plenty of obstacles and hiding spots make for genuinely strategic gameplay. The layout is spacious enough for fast-paced movement but tight enough that every corner can hide a surprise. It’s the kind of arena where quick reflexes matter, but so does knowing the map—regulars quickly learn the best spots to ambush and the safest routes to retreat.

Scenarios, Specials, and Group Programs

Beyond standard games, the club runs a rotating lineup of daily specials designed to keep things fresh and affordable. Member Monday drops every game to just three dollars for members, Tear-em Apart Tuesday offers a buy-one-get-one-free deal in the late afternoon, Wacky Wednesday takes a dollar off each game, and Thursday’s “Fire ’til You Tire” lets players enjoy up to five games for a flat fee until closing. A yearly membership adds perks like a membership ID card, three BOGO coupons, and special member-day pricing. For larger gatherings, the club offers group outing and team-building packages that include exclusive use of the arena and a private room. There’s also the option to rent the entire arena by the hour for a fully private experience, which is a popular choice for groups that want the whole space to themselves.

Arcade Fun and Party Perks

When the laser tag rounds wind down, the fun doesn’t stop. The venue is home to a collection of modern and classic quarter-operated arcade games, many of which pay out redemption tickets that can be traded in for prizes. It’s a nice mix of old-school charm and new-school gaming that appeals to both kids and adults. Birthday parties are a particular specialty here. Every party includes a private party room, a dedicated party host, private arena use, and a post-game stats screen so guests can relive the highlights. Each guest gets free redemption tickets, and the birthday child receives bonus tickets plus an exclusive Zombieburgh t-shirt. Extra shirts and sweatshirts are available for purchase, and additional pizzas can be added on for larger crowds.

A Venue for Celebrations and Team Building

Zombieburgh Lazer Tag is well-suited to a wide range of gatherings. Birthday parties for kids and teens are the bread and butter, but the group packages and exclusive arena rental make it a strong choice for corporate team-building events, school outings, scout groups, and casual get-togethers with friends. The private rooms and party packages take the stress out of hosting, so organizers can focus on having fun rather than logistics. The staff are friendly and helpful, guiding first-timers through the rules and making sure every group has a safe, enjoyable experience. As a proud sponsor of Monroeville Baseball, the club is clearly invested in its local community. It’s the kind of place where families return again and again, drawn by the combination of affordable fun, a welcoming atmosphere, and a genuinely memorable zombie-themed adventure.
