Weekend Warriors: FTX Open Play and Private Battles

Public open play sessions run every Saturday and Sunday under the name "Field Training Exercises" or FTX — a nod to military-style weekend training where players apply their skills in simulated battles. Teams are divided into red and blue forces, and the atmosphere is competitive yet welcoming to newcomers. Walk-in players are welcome between 12 pm and 6 pm on weekends during the active season. For those who prefer a more exclusive experience, private parties offer complete control over the field. Groups can book airsoft, paintball, or gellyball sessions with dedicated staff running the games. Private bookings are available any day during daylight hours and include all rental gear, ammunition, and a private host who handles rules and keeps the action flowing.

The outdoor layout includes natural terrain and built structures that support a range of play styles — from close-quarters engagements to longer-range tactical maneuvers. The field is designed to accommodate groups as small as five players or as large as one hundred. Players can bring their own equipment as long as it meets safety standards, and there is no price difference between using personal gear or renting on-site. The pro shop carries additional ammunition, protective gear, and add-ons like smoke grenades, fragmentation grenades, flashbangs, chest protectors, and gloves for those looking to enhance their experience.

The Coyote Force leadership team has been playing paintball since childhood in 1998, and that lifelong connection to the sport shapes how they run the field. They describe themselves as a player-first organization, focused on delivering high-quality gameplay rather than cutting corners. Staff members act as dedicated hosts for private groups, handling everything from safety briefings to game coordination so players can focus on having fun. The team also travels around the country to compete and assist charity events. They organize an annual "BIG GAME" camping weekend at Fulda Gap and host a Christmas party each year. Some members even participate in large-scale scenario events in Europe. This is a group that lives and breathes the sport.

The private party model means your group has the entire field to themselves — no mixing with strangers. With options ranging from low-impact Gellyball (ages 6+) to full airsoft (ages 10+) and paintball (ages 12+), there is an experience suited for nearly every age group. Professional photography is available to capture the action, and groups are welcome to bring their own food and pizza. Snacks and drinks are also sold on-site. The facility operates on a reservation basis for private groups, with a simple booking process that requires a small deposit to secure the date.

The pro shop is open during operating hours on Saturdays and Sundays, offering gear, ammunition, and refreshments. The facility is open seasonally from March through the fall, with winter closures typical for the Indiana climate. For the 2025-2026 season, the field is closed for winter and will reopen on March 1st, 2026. Public games and private reservations resume at that time.
