A Battlefield Built for Storytelling
The playing field at Clearwater Paintball is anything but flat. Set on rolling hills, the outdoor arena is dotted with mock-ups of military tanks, concrete pillboxes, wooden buildings, and zigzagging trenches. These aren't just decorations — they create real tactical depth, giving players genuine cover and multiple angles of approach. The layout is designed so that several groups can play simultaneously in separate zones, meaning a birthday party of ten-year-olds can have their own skirmish while a group of seasoned regulars runs a capture-the-flag match on the other side of the hill. The terrain itself encourages movement, and the mix of open ground and fortified positions keeps every round feeling fresh.
More Than One Way to Play
Clearwater Paintball offers three distinct activities under one canopy. On Saturdays, the main event is classic paintball, where players use .68-caliber markers in fast-paced elimination and objective-based games. Sundays are reserved for airsoft, drawing a dedicated crowd that runs scenarios like capture the flag, king of the hill, and rescue the POW — all played on the same rolling field with replica firearms firing plastic BBs. For younger or more cautious guests, there is Jelly Ball: a low-impact alternative using water-absorbing gel balls (think Orbeez) fired from automatic markers with almost no sting. Jelly Ball sessions are private, two-hour parties held on Saturday mornings and afternoons, giving kids as young as six a chance to join the fun without the fear of getting marked up.
Built for Celebrations and Team Building
This is a place that understands group events. The group rate structure is designed to make birthdays, bachelor parties, and corporate team-building outings straightforward to organize. Groups of four or more who book at least 24 hours in advance receive a package that includes gear rental, all-day air, field fee, mask, and 500 paintballs per person. Larger groups of twenty or more get an even better per-person rate. The field can also be reserved for private play — meaning your group gets the space to themselves, with no mixing into public games. Midweek games are available for groups of eight or more, making it a flexible option for companies looking to run a team-building session on a weekday afternoon.
Gear, Safety, and the People Who Run the Show
The staff at Clearwater Paintball, led by owner John, have built a reputation for being thorough, personable, and safety-conscious. Every new player receives a mandatory safety briefing before stepping onto the field. Referees supervise all games, starting and stopping rounds, enforcing rules, and keeping the energy positive. Rental equipment is well-maintained and includes everything a first-timer needs: marker, goggles, tank, and hopper. Players who bring their own gear are welcome, provided markers are set to semi-auto with a velocity cap of 280 FPS. Outside paintballs are not allowed — a policy the field enforces to ensure consistent quality and safety. The pro shop on site carries paintballs by the bag or case, as well as airsoft BBs in multiple weights.
A Place to Linger Between Rounds
Between games, players can retreat to shaded canopy areas furnished with picnic tables. These spots are ideal for regrouping, rehydrating, and telling war stories. Guests are welcome to bring their own food, cakes, and decorations for parties, and because the field is located in the center of town, most local pizza places will deliver straight to the pavilion. The atmosphere is casual and community-driven — regulars mingle with first-timers, and the staff makes a point of knowing faces. It is the kind of place where a walk-on player can show up alone on a Saturday morning and end the day as part of a pickup team.
