About

A Free-Roam VR Venue Inside AREA15

Virtualis VR is located inside the AREA15 immersive entertainment district in Las Vegas, at 3215 S Rancho Drive, in the Charleston area not far from the Las Vegas Strip. It sits among the district’s other attractions, making it an easy stop for anyone exploring the neighborhood.

Tactical Games and Immersive Scenarios

The venue offers a rotating lineup of free-roam virtual reality experiences built around cooperative and competitive play. Co-op shooters like Patient Zero, The Lost City, and the sequel Patient Zero Escape drop teams into zombie-infested bunkers and ruined cities, where limited ammunition and no floorplans force players to work together. Exploration titles such as Tikal Night of the Blood Moon and Temple of the Diamond Skull send small crews through Mayan temples and ancient ruins to recover artifacts while dodging traps. For those who prefer head-to-head action, Showdown is a player-versus-player shooter that splits two teams inside an abandoned military warehouse across three levels with different map layouts. Each experience runs roughly 20 to 30 minutes in the virtual world, with groups of 2 to 8 players depending on the title, and most are suited to ages 10 and up.

Arenas Built for Full-Body Play

Virtualis VR claims some of the largest free-roam arenas in the United States, with each full arena exceeding 2,000 square feet (66 by 33 feet). Players are fully untethered, wearing high-resolution headsets, powerful VR backpacks, and full-body tracking that captures the head, arms, and legs in real time. The spaces are dressed with 4D effects including wind, heat, scent, and haptic reactions, while tracked props and haptic weapons add physical feedback to every shot and interaction. Because the arenas are so large, the virtual worlds feel considerably bigger than the physical room, letting groups move, crouch, and take cover naturally. The setup is designed to accommodate up to 10 players simultaneously across the venue.

Beyond the Game: Events, Parties and Team Building

Beyond walk-in sessions, Virtualis VR welcomes private bookings for full arenas or the entire venue. Birthday parties are a popular draw, positioned as a step beyond escape rooms, go-karting, or laser tag. Company events and team-building outings are also a focus, with the cooperative and competitive experiences giving groups a shared challenge. The venue can assist with catering from AREA15’s restaurant venues for group and private events.

The space suits birthday celebrations, corporate retreats, team-building days, and other special occasions where a group wants something active and memorable rather than a traditional seated gathering.

The People Behind the Headsets

Virtualis VR was founded by Aiden Kemp and Las Vegas native H Waldman, who wanted to bring large-scale free-roam VR to a city already full of entertainment options. Visitor reviews consistently praise the staff for being helpful, engaging, and enthusiastic, with guides helping players get kitted up, offering recommendations, and hyping up the experience. The team is described as clearly enjoying what they do, which adds a welcoming layer to the high-tech setup.

A Lounge to Land In

After a session, guests can settle into a lounge area that comfortably hosts most parties. Water and refreshments are available for purchase there, and the space doubles as a gathering point for private events. Alcohol is prohibited on the premises, and outside food and drink is only permitted for group and private events arranged through the venue and catered by AREA15 restaurants. The venue also accommodates wheelchair users and hearing-impaired participants with advance notice, and all equipment is sanitized after each use.
