Last Thursday, our office team decided to break free from spreadsheets, screens, and endless meetings with something completely different — a team-building evening at Laser Battalion in Memphis. It turned out to be the perfect blend of strategy, competition, and laughter — the kind of experience that reminded us why teamwork matters far beyond the office walls.
We arrived just after work, still half in “office mode,” but the moment we stepped through the doors, the atmosphere flipped. The venue was buzzing with energy — neon lights cast a soft glow over the interior, upbeat music set the tone, and the faint hum of players returning from the arena instantly charged the mood.
The check-in process was smooth, handled by friendly staff who clearly knew how to balance efficiency and excitement. They helped us register our teams, explained the safety basics, and walked us through the different game options available. The vibe was organized yet playful — the perfect setup for a corporate group that needed to unwind.
Our company had booked a Corporate Combat Package, which included private arena access for two hours, full equipment rental, and a short orientation session. The staff also offered a private lounge area with drinks and snacks — ideal for regrouping between matches.
Once geared up with glowing vests and sleek phasers, we split into two teams: the Marketing Mavericks versus the Tech Titans. The playful rivalry had already begun before we even entered the arena.
The moment we stepped through the fog-lit doorway, it felt like being dropped into a sci-fi battlefield. The arena design was spectacular — dark corridors lit with neon lines, glowing barriers, elevated walkways, and strategic hiding spots. It was immersive and cinematic, every corner pulsing with color and energy.
The first match was “Team Elimination.” The goal: outscore the opposing team by tagging as many opponents as possible. The first few minutes were chaotic — laughter, shouts of “Cover me!” and a lot of friendly betrayal as alliances shifted mid-game. Gradually, we started strategizing, learning how to coordinate and communicate under pressure — exactly what team-building should feel like.
Our second round switched to “Base Defense,” where each team had to protect its beacon while trying to capture the enemy’s. This one brought out everyone’s competitive side. Our manager, who is usually calm and composed in meetings, suddenly turned into a fearless squad leader, shouting tactical orders with military precision. The CFO, meanwhile, became an expert in stealth — no one saw him coming until it was too late.
Between matches, we gathered in the lounge — laughing, catching our breath, replaying the highlights of the last round. The staff kept the energy high, offering quick tips for better tactics and resetting equipment. Some of us compared scores while others grabbed refreshments and regrouped for the next mission.
This mix of action and downtime worked perfectly — we had time to bond, joke, and see each other outside of our usual work roles. The natural leadership, quick thinking, and teamwork that emerged during the games felt like a fun mirror of what we do at work — only with lasers and glowing armor instead of laptops and coffee.
By the end of the night, everyone was exhilarated — sweaty, laughing, and buzzing with adrenaline. The last round ended with a dramatic standoff in the central corridor, flashing lights bouncing off the walls as both teams fought for the final tag. When the scoreboard lit up with the final results, the cheers and groans filled the arena.
As we walked out into the cool Memphis night, it was clear the event had done its job — it wasn’t just entertainment, it was a shared experience that strengthened our sense of camaraderie. We’d learned who’s brave, who’s sneaky, and who’s better at hiding than leading the charge — and somehow, that brought us all closer.
Laser Battalion Memphis is more than just a laser tag venue — it’s a full-on team-building powerhouse. Whether for corporate groups, birthdays, bachelor parties, or just friends looking for a rush of fun, it delivers pure energy, teamwork, and unforgettable memories.
5/5 — A perfect balance of adrenaline and bonding. Our team is already planning the rematch.
