Gelly ball is an interactive, paint-free activity that is incredibly popular among children and adults alike. It is a great way to get outside and enjoy fun and non-competitive play without the mess of paint. And recently, the City of Waco, Texas decided to bring Gelly Ball to its residents, allowing people of all ages to get in on the action.
GellyBall is like paintball, but without the mess. Players wear protective gear, though it is usually not as heavy-duty or intimidating as traditional paintball. Instead of shooting balls of paint, they shoot Gelliballs – lightweight, ping-pong sized rubber balls filled with non-toxic, water-soluble gel. When it hits an object, the gel breaks open and releases a small, colorful splatter of gel. Players try to hit each other with the balls, and there is an entirely realistic feel of shooting, target practice, and the “game” of paintball, without the mess.
The City of Waco recently opened a facility dedicated to Gelly Ball. In the facility, there are multiple fields with various obstacles for players to maneuver around during the game. Players are encouraged to bring their own safety gear, but the facility will also provide it for anyone who needs it. Additionally, the facility can host parties and team-building events.
The City of Waco hopes that Gelly Ball will help their citizens live healthier, more active lifestyles. It can be a fun and physically engaging activity for children, teenagers, and adults, alike.
